XDefiant M44 loadout: The M44 build against a blurred background of characters.

Using snipers at both close and long-range is a popular choice in arena shooters, making the best XDefiant M44 loadout a great one to have at the ready. Snipers aren’t easy to get to grips with in this game as these weapons don’t have the quick-scoping capabilities of older Call of Duty games that you might be hoping for. However, with the right attachments, you can get very close. That’s why we’ve prepared the best M44 build in XDefiant for you to use.

This XDefiant M44 build might not have reached the top of XDefiant meta to be one of the best XDefiant guns, though as one of only two snipers, it’s important to know how to use it best. As a sniper, it’s certainly not a build for everyone, though with these attachments is a highly nimble and absolutely lethal weapon across all the XDefiant game modes and XDefiant maps.

XDefiant M44 loadout

The best XDefiant M44 loadout is:

  • Muzzle – Muzzle Booster
  • Barrel – Lightweight
  • Optics – CQBSS (8x)
  • Rear Grip – Quick Draw
  • Stock – Padded

This M44 build looks to improve the ADS speed of the weapon as much as possible, letting you quickly pull off one-shot kills against opponents at all ranges. As a sniper, it won’t be quite as approachable as the best XDefiant MP7 loadout or XDefiant ACR loadout, it is an incredibly strong weapon once you’ve got the hang of it. It’s also worth noting that the M44 lacks the stopping power of the XDefiant TAC 50 loadout, requiring you to consistently land shots on the upper body. It more than makes up for it with great agility, however.

Firstly, we’ve got the Muzzle Booster. This will increase the rate of fire slightly at the cost of both horizontal and vertical recoil. Since we’re aiming to improve the close-range effectiveness for quick-scoping fun, this is a worthy sacrifice. However, you can leave this attachment slot empty if you’d rather.

The Lightweight Barrel is quite possibly the most important attachment of all. This will significantly improve our ADS time, alongside a slight boost to movement speed. The slight negative effect on short and medium range efficiency is a worthwhile trade-off considering how much it does for our quick-scoping potential. While the Heavy Barrel is another strong option thanks to its +5% weapon damage at the cost of -10% rate of fire, the Lightweight Barrel affords us better handling. In close-range, this is hard to turn down, as it’s possible to line up a well-placed shot to swiftly eliminate enemies using traditional close-quarters weapons.

For our next attachment, we’ve chosen the CQBSS (8x) scope. The standard sniper scope has a powerful 12x zoom, which is too cumbersome for most of the maps and modes. On the other hand, the 8x zoom is the perfect balance, with a great reticle to boot. With that said, you can use the Variable Zoom (4x-8x), which will slightly improve ADS time, though we prefer the reticle of the CQBSS scope. It is, however, up to personal preference.

The Quick Draw Grip is the second most important attachment, and a no-brainer for a quick-scope sniper setup using the M44. This attachment provides a nice boost to sprint-shoot time and ADS time, great for our close-range effectiveness. Remember though, this will hinder our aim stability, which can make it harder to land shots at distant enemies.

Last but not least, the Padded Stock. This is by far the best stock for this M44 build, increasing recoil recovery, aim stability, and ADS hit flinch. With a bolt-action sniper like the M44 or TAC 50, the Padded Stock is a must. Furthermore, unlike the other stock options, the Padded Stock also doesn’t have any drawbacks.

With this M44 loadout, you’ll have a surprisingly nimble bolt-action rifle capable of one-shot kills if you can land your stops. It certainly doesn’t have the power of more modern snipers like the TAC 50, but it makes up for it with its agility and rate of fire.

XDefiant M44 class setup

In terms of the best M44 class setup, we’ve chosen the 93R sidearm and a Proximity Mine.

If you’ve got a good aim, then the M44 build above has you covered for most engagements. However, if you’re ever caught out reloading or in need of a less aim-intensive weapon, then the 93R is here to save the day. Firing in a three-round burst, the 93R is an effective close-range weapon. For attachments, we’ve equipped the Barrel Extender, a Reflex sight, Extended Mag, Quick Draw Grip, and the Lightweight Stock to improve overall effectiveness.

When it comes to equipment, it’s largely up to personal preference, though we’ve chosen a Proximity Mine. The last thing you want when you’re using a sniper is enemies sneaking up on you, making a mine the perfect tool to watch your back. However, a Frag Grenade can be a great alternative for clearing rooms or forcing enemies out of cover, while the Flashbang and EMP can give you if you’re looking to push forward.

That covers the best XDefiant M44 loadout right now. With a deadly sniper rifle ready to go, all that’s left is picking your favorite of the XDefiant classes and XDefiant Factions and charging into battle. If you really fancy changing things up, give the XDefiant M870 loadout a go for some shotgun action. Happy hunting.
