If you want to play Starfield, but you don’t want to pay full price for it or commit to the monthly payments an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership demands, you’ll be pleased to know that a new Starfield sale is about to start. This Black Friday period, Xbox has a fantastic selection of deals on Xbox Game Studios games for you to take advantage of and Bethesda’s recently-released space-based RPG is one of those games available at a discount for a limited time.
When you look at all the new Xbox games you can play heading into the holidays, Starfield really is one of the best available – even though it was slightly snubbed at The Game Awards this year. It’s one of the best RPG games out there on Xbox right now and a wonderful open-world experience to sink some hours into. Oh, and from November 17, it’s going to be on sale among some of the best Xbox Black Friday deals we’ve ever seen.
As this new Xbox Wire article explains, Starfield is among those Xbox Game Studios games available at a discount from November 17. The standard edition of Starfield will be on sale for 20% less than usual, meaning it will set you back just $55.99 for the duration of the Black Friday sale. If you want to make sure you have access to the first bit of Starfield DLC when that arrives, you can pick up Starfield Premium Edition for 15% off – which means it will cost $84.99 during the sale.
We know that still sounds like a lot, but this is the cheapest Starfield has been so far and the sheer amount of hours you can get out of this game make it a worthwhile investment. There are over 1,000 Starfield planets for you to explore, multiple variations of the main game thanks to the Starfield New Game Plus experience, and so many different ways to play with all the best Starfield builds changing the way you can approach any number of situations in-game.
It is, though, a Bethesda RPG game – make no mistake about that. Chasing the best Starfield weapons may be a huge part of the experience, but it’s the Starfield characters and Starfield companions that make this game memorable. There’s also several Starfield factions for you to join, each with a unique storyline for you to play through. Even the worst Starfield faction is worth checking out, at least once.
If you’re in the UK, or anywhere else with access to the Xbox Store for that matter, you should see the same 20% discount available from November 17 – and the 15% discount for Starfield Premium Edition, too. These deals also apply to the PC version of the game, if you want to play it there, instead.
Of course, though, if these discounts aren’t big enough for you, Xbox Game Pass is always an option. Starfield is one of the best Xbox Game Pass games available right now, but the selection of Xbox Game Pass games you can play in addition to Starfield (with an active subscription) is only going to grow in the coming months – and it’s already pretty good right now.
One thing worth noting, however, is that Starfield isn’t on the list of all the Xbox Game Pass Core games you get access to. So, you’ll need to pick up an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription if you want to play it. Xbox hasn’t confirmed whether there will be any Xbox Game Pass deals this Black Friday, either, which would suggest that you’ll have to settle for the service’s full price if you go this route.
However, you will be able to save on the best Xbox controllers and best Xbox headsets throughout the Black Friday period. Not only this, but this Xbox Series X Black Friday discount is worth checking out if you’re looking to upgrade from an Xbox One. That being said, if you want to buy and keep Starfield, now is the best time to do that. It’s never been cheaper and we can’t imagine it will be on sale again for a little while after the Black Friday deals conclude. You may also want to look into getting one of the best Xbox expansion cards, too; Starfield isn’t the smallest game out there.
