With over 60 different Helldivers 2 Stratagem codes to input, there’s everything from huge nukes to electrifying defense protocols. However, there’s one major aspect still yet to arrive in Helldivers 2. Arrowhead Game Studios is hinting at the deployment of new Stratagems, and I’m praying that this could finally be the debut of vehicles in our galactic battle.
You and I know well enough by now that Helldivers 2 is one of the best co-op games around, and while we all absolutely love spreading democracy with our buddies, adding vehicles could take it to the next level. Who doesn’t want to roam around Arrowhead’s vast multiplayer game shooting Terminids from the back of a weaponized truck? In a recent social media post, Arrowhead suggests that two new Stratagems are coming to the game, but the studio isn’t revealing what these fresh armaments do just yet.
The developer simply states that the directive is part of the “Managed Democracy manifest”, while depicting Craig Lee Thomas, the game’s unofficial mascot, with a terrified expression. In response to PS5 players pointing out these Stratagems don’t exist, Arrowhead is responding with nothing more than a ‘Shh’ emoji. Even by looking at current Stratagem input codes, there isn’t a clear indication as to their purpose. Yet, vehicles make the most sense in my eyes.
Helldivers 2 players got their first taste of transportation with the EXO-45 Patriot exosuit, a comically-heavy and badass mech that can shred Terminids like paper. The Jump Pack Stratagem offers brief bursts of jetpack-like jumps, too. With most updates offering explosive new weaponry, like the current Helldivers 2 Warbond, I feel like we’re long overdue some methods of transportation instead of just more firepower.
The first Helldivers game, which is currently 60% off for PlayStation players, included multiple vehicle types. From off-roading trucks to motorcycles, Arrowhead furnished players with a small but efficient galactic garage. It isn’t a ridiculous request, either, as the foundation for Helldivers 2 vehicles is already in motion. Footage of tank-like Stratagems exists, as you can see below, and it could very well be the work of game master Joel testing them out in the field.
Whatever these Stratagems materialize as, they’ll need to be a worthwhile addition as we anticipate the dreaded arrival of the Illuminate – the game’s next sinister enemy faction. Throw in this awesome sword from the first game that I’m desperate to get slicing with, and we’ll be in for a hell of a time in one of this year’s best PS5 games.
