Arrowhead Game Studios is relentless when it comes to letting you nuke robots and bugs in Helldivers 2. Just when you start to think the studio has thought of every way to blow something up, a new Helldivers 2 Warbond arrives. Available right now for PS5 players, the Democratic Detonation Warbond is all about explosions and a scorched earth approach to interstellar warfare.
Don’t worry if you haven’t finished the previous Helldivers 2 Warbond, either. Whether you’re a newcomer or returning to the acclaimed co-op game, each Warbond is available forever. However, beginning with this latest arsenal of weaponry and armor could be the best way to kick off your Helldivers journey. It’ll set you back 1,000 Super Credits ($9.99/£7.99), giving you access to five new weapons, three armor sets and stylish capes, and additional boosters.
Boosters can be pivotal to your success in the harsh environments populating Arrowhead’s excellent multiplayer game, and Expert Extraction Pilot booster sounds like it’ll become a must-pick item. “This booster lowers the time it takes for the extraction shuttle to reach the extraction beacon,” clarifies Arrowhead. However, what has us really excited is the simple yet effective addition of the Grenade Pistol.
Sealing up bug holes and clearing masses of Terminid eggs can be hectic. We’ve all failed to get a hole-in-one grenade throw during the heat of battle, and bringing in the Grenade Launcher Stratagem takes up a valuable slot in your loadout.
Like the LAS-7 Dagger pistol before it, a laser beam handgun, the Grenade Pistol condenses a useful Stratagem into your secondary slot. It’s a welcome implementation for one of the best PS5 games out there, and we’re sure that players will find some inventive uses for it.
