Do you love defending Super Earth? Do you crave the latest and greatest in Helldivers technology? Then the new Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge Warbond is live now just for you, bringing fresh firearms, armor, and more. Even better, however, is that this new Helldivers 2 Warbond is already shaking up the meta.
Cutting Edge is the first post-launch battle pass in Helldivers 2, and it sees a boatload of new equipment arrive in one of the best co-op games on PS5 for 1,000 Super Credits ($9.99/£7.99). While there’s lots to sink your teeth into, we’ve found the LAS-16 Sickle, G-23 Stun Grenade, and the Localization Confusion Booster to be must-have items for those looking to take on the hardest difficulties.
The LAS-16 Sickle is a unique laser rifle that fires in short bursts and, if you’re careful not to overheat it, effectively has infinite ammo. Following buffs and nerfs in recent Helldivers 2 updates, the Sickle has swooped in to take a top spot next to the Breaker and Slugger. While it’s not designed to take on the likes of a hulking Bile Titan, the Sickle is perfect for taking out the trash in one of this year’s best PS5 games so far.
Likewise, the G-23 Stun grenade takes the underrated crowd control of the EMS mortar and air strike and turns it into a simple throwable. If you’re face to face with an enemy spawner, throw the G-23 out to stop them in their tracks. We’ve found it very helpful against the Terminids in the new Termicide missions.
Last but by no means least, the Localization Confusion Booster increases the time between enemy encounters. Yes, you read that right. This new booster will slow down enemy spawns like bug breachers and bot drops which is too good to pass up in high-level missions where it’s easy to get swamped. You’ll want to make sure someone on your team has this booster active to ease up the pressure.
As for the rest of the gear, it’s unfortunately not quite as strong. The other weapons lack the punch to keep up with the meta weapons while the armor isn’t as versatile as existing options. With that said, the Cutting Edge armor’s Electrical Conduit perk – which reduces arc damage by a staggering 95% – could become the go-to option in the future as the terrifying Helldivers 2 Illuminate faction is expected to deal arc damage. Until then though, it’s more or less just used to counter annoying teammates being a bit too gung-ho with the Arc Thrower.

Remember that, as this Warbond gives you 300 Super Credits over the course of completing it, you’ll have some to put towards a future pass or spend on other cosmetics in the Superstore.
