Here’s how to complete the Destiny 2 Strider quest and unlock Winterbite in Lightfall, involving Terminal Overload Key Chests, Vex, and Quinn the archivist.

Destiny 2 Strider quest: Guardians fighting back the Vex in Neomuna.

The Destiny 2 Strider quest added in the Lightfall expansion is one of the major post-campaign quests. Strider gives players the opportunity to earn one of the most unique and anticipated weapons yet, a Stasis Exotic glaive called Winterbite.

Winterbite and the associated Destiny 2 Strider quest, is only of a few Destiny 2 Lightfall Exotic weapons earned through quests. There’s also several new Destiny 2 Lightfall Exotic armour pieces you can find. While Winterbite will have some tough competition, it’s possible it could make it onto the best Destiny 2 PvE weapons or best Destiny 2 PvP weapons lists.

Destiny 2 Strider quest

The Destiny 2 Strider quest steps are:

  • Visit the archivist, Quinn Laghari
  • Spend keys on a Terminal Overload Key Chest in each of the three main Neomuna zones – Ahimsa Park, Zephyr Concourse, and Liming Harbor
  • Defeat Shadow Legion Cabal in Neomuna to collect location data
  • Complete the Ahimsa Park Lost Sector
  • Return to Quinn
  • Repair the Strider’s memorial
  • Destroy the Hyrdas and shut down the confluxes at Maya’s Retreat
  • Return to Quinn

The Strider quest has 7 parts to it overall, involving speaking to archivist Quinn Laghari several times, completing Terminal Overload in each area, and more. Doing so and completing the Strider quest will reward you with the Winterbite Exotic heavy glaive.

It’s important to note that you won’t be able to rush Strider and complete it in a single day. The second step of the Strider quest tasks you with looting the Terminal Overload Key Chest from each of the three main zones. Since this activity rotates location daily, you’ll have to complete the activity on three different days.

Destiny 2 Strider quest step 1 – Terminal Overload Key Chest

The first Destiny 2 Strider quest step tasks you with spending Terminal Overload Keys to open the Terminal Overload Key Chests in each of the three main Neomuna Zones. These zones are Zephyr Concourse, Liming Harbor, and Ahimsa Park.

To complete the Strider quest step 1, you’ll need to understand how to get Terminal Overload Keys in Destiny 2 and the Destiny 2 Terminal Overload rotation.

Firstly, to open the Terminal Overload Key Chests you need a Terminal Overload Key. Spend this key after completing a Terminal Overload run and opening the bonus locked chest, making progress towards this objective. Though you’re required to loot the Terminal Overload Key chest in the other locations as well. This means that you have to complete Terminal Overload on each of the three rotation days to be able to fully complete this quest step.

The rest of the Strider quest is relatively straightforward so you shouldn’t have too much trouble completing it. Remember to track the Strider quest in your quest menu to have objective markers when you’re exploring Neomuna.

That’s everything you need to know to complete the Destiny 2 Strider quest and unlock the Winterbite Exotic glaive. Besides step two, the rest of the quest is rather straightforward so you shouldn’t have too much trouble completing the quest.
