Before the MW3 release date arrives, Activision teases what MW3 maps to expect, which seemingly include some of the best Modern Warfare 2 maps in existence.
We’re talking about the original Modern Warfare 2, though. Yes, after speculation regarding their return, all 16 MW2 (2009) maps are seemingly back for Modern Warfare 3. By interacting with the official Call of Duty WhatsApp account, you can text the name of any original MW2 map to the number, receiving a confirmation accompanied by a pin emoji. You might be ready and raring to jump into Terminal and Highrise first, but it is Rust where all Call of Duty issues must be settled.
Last shot is a 360 off the top of the map? Temper shots? No ACOGS? All classic staples of a 1v1 Rust match. If you are using an ACOG in a 1v1 duel, you deserve to get defeated by your enemy. Rust previously appeared in the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot, sporting a brand lick of paint on last-generation consoles. Speculatively, it is unlikely there have been many drastic changes to its already existing remaster. Don’t expect to see any Nuketown 2025-style tweaks.
There could be plenty of other secrets waiting to be uncovered by speaking with the COD WhatsApp. We’ve already seen the potential arrival of MW3 Zombies via a similar text message exchange. COD fans are extremely close to the MW3 reveal event in Warzone, which will potentially see the release of our first proper look at MW3 gameplay, including what MW3 multiplayer will bring us.
It could lead to the confirmation of the MW3 beta, where you’ll get to sample the game hands-on. One of the best things about Modern Warfare 3 already is the inclusion of its ‘Carry Forward’ scheme, which allows you to transfer MW2 camos and more into the next COD game. As always with a Call of Duty game, expectations are high for it to be one of the best FPS games around, but with these classic maps, it has a strong chance.
