The Call of Duty games have had some pretty great collector’s editions over the years. Black Ops came with that sweet RX-XD car, and many of us remember those night vision goggles from MW2 (2009). Now, a recent listing of the Modern Warfare 3 Collector’s Edition reveals what the forthcoming MW3 bundle contains – including a tease for weaponry in MW3 Zombies.
As you wait for the Modern Warfare 3 release date to arrive, you don’t have to sit biding time for a look what MW3 pre-orders include. According to a new product listing on Walmart‘s website, Call of Duty fans can get their hands on an assortment of MW3 goodies, which are exclusive to the retailer. Notably, the bundle features four lithographs, with one of them depicting the iconic Ray Gun – that first debuted in World at War.
Though the Ray Gun has remained a staple of COD Zombies, Activision is yet to showcase the weapon properly through gameplay. However, we speculate the upcoming Call of Duty Next presentation will be the weapon’s time to shine. It really wouldn’t be a proper COD Zombies experience if it wasn’t included, so we’re glad this goodie appears to confirm its presence in the game.
Furthermore, Zombies fanatics will note that the enamel pin set includes the Juggernog perk and a Monkey Bomb. The MW3 Zombies cinematic teased their return, alongside a myriad of other hidden secrets you have missed. You should dive into our breakdown of those teases here. What we are curious to unravel is the MW3 Zombies metal poster, seen on the right below. While we know that enemies like the Mimic from Black Ops Cold War will return, this worm-like foe looks to be a new kind of enemy for players to defeat.
However, in the background, we can see floating enemies that bear a resemblance to the Disciple’s from BOCW and Dark Aether lore. Activision confirms that MW3 Zombies is the next step of this timeline on the official Call of Duty blog. This enemy type can be found in Mauer Der Toten in BOCW, and they can be quite tricky to eliminate at higher rounds.
