What are the Diablo 4 Uniques? While you’re exploring the world and defeating bosses, you might be lucky enough to come across one of the Diablo 4 Uniques, rare and powerful equipment for your character. To help you keep track of which ones you have left to get, here are all the Diablo 4 Unique items, including how to get them and where to find Unique items. We’ve even got some pointers on the best Uniques to look out for.

Diablo 4 is massive, with heaps of loot to find and collect to put towards the best Diablo 4 build for your class. Unique items, or Uniques as they are sometimes called, will be powerful additions to your arsenal in the Diablo 4 endgame, especially as each of the Diablo 4 classes have their own Uniques to collect. And that’s before even thinking about the ultra-rare Uber Uniques that only a handful of players have earned.

What are Diablo 4 Uniques?

Diablo 4 Uniques are the rarest and most powerful gear pieces in the game and drop as loot on Nightmare and Torment world levels. New Unique items will be added in seasonal updates, starting with Season of the Malignant.

With unique effects and designs, Uniques rank above the five other rarity levels of Normal, Magic, Rare, Legendary, Sacred, and Ancestral items. Currently, Ancestral Unique items are the highest tier item you can earn, besides the Uber Uniques only earned by a handful of players, so keep your eyes out.

Uniques are the highest rarity of items available in Diablo 4, which is fitting considering their power. Being the hardest quality to find, Unique items can be build-defining thanks to their one-of-a-kind effects. Perhaps most excitingly, you can also equip multiple Uniques to create devastating builds with several powerful effects. With new mechanics and features added in each season, alongside new Uniques, there’s always great new build synergies to experiment with, no matter what class you play.

With this potential power, however, comes one drawback. You can’t remove or change the effect, including transferring it onto other items. Furthermore, while their unique effects and affixes remain static between drops, the individual stats can be different. As such, you might have to farm Uniques for the exact roll you want if you’re chasing a specific stat. So, how to you get and farm Uniques in Diablo 4?

How to get Diablo 4 Uniques

To get Diablo 4 Uniques, you must complete the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon to reach World Tier 3: Nightmare or World Tier 4: Torment and complete activities. These include:

  • Opening Tortured Gifts in Helltide areas
  • Nightmare Dungeons
  • World Bosses
  • Overworld mob drops

Before you can even think about getting Uniques, you need to understand the Diablo 4 World Tiers as you need to be playing on Nightmare or Torment difficulty for them to drop. This involves completing the Diablo 4 Acts and campaign, and then beating the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon in Kyovashad. It’s worth noting that, if you’re farming Uniques, then you’ll want to be on Torment difficulty, as drop rate is increased.

While on Nightmare and Torment difficulty, endgame activities like Nightmare Dungeons, Helltide areas, and the Diablo 4 world bosses all have a chance of dropping a Unique item. This includes the Diablo 4 Butcher boss, who has a chance to drop their iconic cleaver.

Diablo 4 Uber Uniques

It’s worth noting, however, that there is a small pool of even more rare Uniques in the game, known as Uber Uniques, that very few players across the whole game have acquired.

The seven Diablo 4 Uber Uniques are:

  • Ahavarion Spear of Lycander
  • Doombringer
  • The Grandfather
  • Ring of Starless Skies
  • Andariel’s Visage
  • Harlequin Crest
  • Melted Heart of Selig

Lead class designer of Diablo 4, Adam Jackson, provided further details on how to get the six extremely rare Unique items. Most importantly, these require your character to be at least level 85. However, they can be found anywhere you a regular Unique item can drop, so there’s no need to change your routine.

  • Drop from level 85+ enemies
  • Drop from standard Unique sources
  • Always drop at 820 power
  • They are very rare

Given how rare they are, particularly if you want to join the prestigious few players with Uber Uniques, then you need to know how to farm Unique items in Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 Uniques farm

The best Diablo 4 Unique items farm so far are the mystery chests in the Diablo 4 Helltide event regions, as these provide several high-quality loot drops.

From these mystery chests, it’s possible to get several loot drops from the Tortured Gift of Mysteries after farming Cinders in these special zones. Potentially, you could earn one or even more Uniques in a short space of time by doing mystery chest runs in the Helltide. So, be sure to head to Helltide areas and farm Cinders to open these reward caches in hopes of earning a rare and powerful Unique item.

Insatiable Fury and Mad Wolf’s Glee are vital to making a Werebear and Werewolf build respectively as they let you remain in animal form indefinitely and increase the effectiveness of these skills. However, there are also options for non-Shapeshifting builds, namely the Greatstaff of the Crone.

Windforce Bow Hits with this weapon have up to a 20% chance to deal double damage and Knock Back the target.
Word of Hakan Amulet Your Rain of Arrows is always Imbued with all Imbuements at once.

The Rogue Uniques predominantly build upon the powerful status effects of this class. For example, Asheara’s Khanjar is great for increasing Attack Speed and, by extension, DPS, a core aspect of the Rogue’s playstyle. Similarly, Cowl of the Nameless increases Lucky Hit Chance against crowd controlled enemies, which is great for burst damage builds.

What are the best Diablo 4 Uniques?

The best Diablo 4 Uniques for each class are:

  • Gohr’s Devastating Grips (Barbarian)
  • Rage of Harrogath (Barbarian)
  • Word of Hakan (Rogue)
  • Windforce (Rogue)
  • Vasily’s Prayer (Druid)
  • Insatiable Fury/Mad Wolf’s Glee (Druid)
  • Raiment of the Infinite (Sorcerer)
  • Harlequin Crest (Sorcerer)
  • Howl from Below (Necromancer)
  • Greaves of the Empty Tomb (Necromancer)
  • Mother’s Embrace (all classes)

These are the Unique items we’d recommend you use for each class, giving you two options so hopefully you can at least find one of them if luck isn’t on your side. This is especially important given some of them are Uber Uniques, namely the Harlequin Crest for the Sorcerer.

With Diablo 4 Seasons, the list of best Uniques could see some shake-ups as new seasonal powers and effects are introduced that change build synergies, so always keep an eye on the current best Unique items for your class and build. We’ve already seen this happen with the debut season, Season of the Malignant, which introduced not only new build mechanics, namely Malignant Hearts, but has also permanently added six new Uniques to collect. Paired with the seasonal build mechanics, players will have more options than ever when it comes to build-crafting.

Remember that having the best Uniques means nothing if it doesn’t line up with your build. When you’re trying to work out which Unique item you want to find and equip, it’s important to first consider your build. For example, the Druid’s Insatiable Fury Unique is a superb item for Werebear builds that will be completely useless in Werewolf builds. Luckily, there’s Mad Wolf’s Glee for Werewolves. The same goes for all classes, as some Uniques boost specific skills that you might not even be using. Just because it’s gold and shiny, it doesn’t mean it’s going to be the best item to use for you.

You can also change your build at any time, so if you find one of the best Diablo 4 Uniques and really want to use it, then change your build to match.

Though don’t forget, you don’t have to use the best Unique items if you don’t want to. Got a personal favorite? Use that. While the best Uniques will certainly output more damage or offer other invaluable boosts, you can still get great builds without having the best of the best. If grinding out endless Nightmare Dungeons to get the best Uniques is wearing you down, we’d recommend moving on.

Now you know everything there is to know about Diablo 4 Unique items, including all the Uniques for each class and how to get Unique items. No doubt these will come in handy as you grind the Diablo 4 battle pass now that the Diablo 4 Season 1 release date has arrived with new content and even new Uniques to grind for.
