Barrier Champions are among the most annoying enemies in Destiny 2, creating an impenetrable shield to stay alive. Though, if you know how to stun and kill Barrier Champions in Destiny 2, then you can take them down with ease.

How to stun and kill Barrier Champions in Destiny 2
Barrier Champions in Destiny 2 can be stunned and killed using:
- Barrier anti-Champion Artifact mods
- Intrinsic Barrier anti-Champion weapons including Wish-Ender, Arbalest, The Lament, and Eriana’s Vow
- Solar raidiant abilities
- Void volatile rounds
- Strand unraveling rounds
Barrier Champions are pesky enemies that will create a shield to defend themselves that require the above anti-Barrier methods to remove. While any weapon will deal damage to Barrier Champions, once they reach about 50% health they will create a bubble shield that is resistant to damage aside from anti-Barrier sources.
Barrier anti-Champion mods can be found and unlocked in the Artifact menu, providing the corresponding anti-Champion effect to a different weapon type each Season. Once you’ve got the mod unlocked, all you have to do is equip a suitable weapon that matches the Barrier anti-Champion mods for the Season and you’re good to go.
Furthermore, a small selection of Exotic weapons also come with Barrier anti-Champion effects automatically, so you won’t necessarily need a Barrier anti-Champion mod. Currently, these weapons are Wish-Ender, Arbalest, The Lament, and Eriana’s Vow. All you need to do is shoot at Barrier Champions’ shields using one of these weapons and it would be destroyed, leaving them vulnerable.
Lastly, there are also specific Subclass effects available on all three classes through Aspects, Fragments, and even a few Exotic armour pieces, that will stun and kill Barrier Champions in Destiny 2.
You can use the Solar radiant effect to break Barrier Champion shields. You can get this from abilities and Fragments such as the Hunter’s Acrobat Doge or the Ember of Torches Fragment. Radiant will empower your weapons, allowing you to break through the resistant shield.
Likewise, Void has access to volatile rounds, a Void equivalent that will be able to break a Barrier Champion’s shield.
Finally, the new Strand subclasses will also be able to take down Barrier Champions through the unraveling rounds effect, similar to the radiant effect and volatile rounds.
