XDefiant seems imminent as new rewards appear out of nowhere

With a great selection of Ubisoft Rewards unveiled, the XDefiant release date on PS5 and Xbox really is right around the corner this time.

After several test periods and delays, FPS fans and Call of Duty veterans are foaming at the mouth for XDefiant, Ubisoft’s remarkably promising free-to-play shooter. The only problem? It’s been missing in action for quite some time while the finishing touches are being worked on. Well, the release of new XDefiant Ubisoft Rewards suggests that its release on PS5 and Xbox could arrive very soon.

By logging into Ubisoft Connect, either online or through your PS5 and Xbox, you can view the newly added XDefiant Ubisoft Rewards. These goodies include the Midnight Velocity weapon camo, a battle pass tier skip token, a battle pass XP boost, and a weapon XP boost. In other words, you’ll be off to a great start in what’s likely to be one of the best FPS games out there.

However, most importantly for many, making these rewards available – and already redeemable – suggests the XDefiant release date is right around the corner. Executive producer Mark Rubin recently claimed the game was going “through rigorous testing and bug fixing as we get ready for launch” before Ubisoft’s latest earnings report claimed the game would release before the end of this financial year on Sunday, March 31, 2024. While there was suspicion that XDefiant would miss its target, these new rewards indicate that it should be on track to launch in the next few weeks.

As for the rewards themselves, the Midnight Velocity Pack is certainly the big-ticket item – backed up by its 100 Ubisoft Connect Units price tag. Boasting a sleek blue, white, and black finish, you’ll have a fresh look right away. Interestingly though, the promotional image reveals an underbarrel laser that matches the weapon skin. This bundle therefore also seems to confirm that we’ll be able to customize attachment camos – at least with camo bundles like the recent Call of Duty games.

If you want to claim these rewards right away, then you’d best get earning some Ubisoft Connect Units by playing through some of the publisher’s iconic games if you don’t want to wait until the release of XDefiant to start the grind. It’s also a good idea to get up to speed on the best XDefiant loadouts, best guns, and the overall XDefiant meta you can expect to be up against. Here’s hoping that after all the setbacks, XDefiant manages to cement itself as one of the best free shooting games of this console generation.
