On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, PS5 and Xbox players can head over to The Finals subreddit, where Embark Studios will host an Ask Me Anything session for two hours. Joining the session to field questions from fans of the acclaimed FPS game, is Embark Studios co-founder Rob Runesson and creative director Gustav Tilleby. Subreddit moderator ‘tron3747’ expresses that “we hope the AMA does well and acts as the start of many more future interactions and AMAs with Embark, on the subreddit. Aside from earning the limited-time Terminal Attack rewards and putting this meta weapon to the test, you’re probably aware that The Finals’ battle pass ends on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Once it expires, The Finals Season 3 is likely to begin on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, and bring another wave of fresh content to Embark’s growing multiplayer game. But what exactly will Season 3 include?
Well, for starters, speculatively speaking it is possible that the return of Recon Senses in on the table. The popular ability was removed due to balancing issues, remaining out of play for The Finals’ Season 2 meta. Embark continues to experiment with the ability, and Season 3 seems like a prime opportunity to relaunch it. As a fan of Season 2’s current synthwave paradise, I’m curious as to what aesthetic Embark will tackle next. The studio has been teasing a world beyond the virtual walls of the in-universe game show, and who knows, maybe we’ll get to uncover the secrets behind The Finals’ mysterious sponsors.
I’ve been scouring early footage of the game, which includes the presence of vehicles – an aspect still missing in The Finals. Hopping in some slick transportation and crashing through every building sounds thrilling, and Power Shift has given us a taste of what that’s like to an extent. In our chat with Embark Studios at the start of Season 2, the studio told me that expanded cosmetic options like facial hair were in the works. I’m confident that the levels of drip in Season 3 will just be as immaculate as the current season, but I’m ready to take my customization options further.
