Lego Fortnite and Rocket Racing increase the player count, with Fortnite surging to new heights on PS5 and Xbox as Fortnite Festival begins.

As Fortnite Festival arrives in Fortnite, records are already getting positively obliterated in the Epic Games mega hit. With new modes taking the potential of Fortnite to an entirely fresh realm, the launch of Lego Fortnite and Rocket Racing are injecting life into the game at an unprecedented rate. In fact, all of this recent content is going down so well with fans that it has already broken records set by Fortnite OG across PS5 and Xbox.

The sky isn’t the limit for Fortnite, as we know this much is true just looking at the incoming player count numbers for one of the best battle royale games on PS5 and Xbox. Prior to the arrival of Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and now Fortnite Festival, we reported that players had already racked up over 4 million days of combined play time. This was a result of just over 3.5 million players, at the time, logging in for Fortnite OG – a seasonal event that resurrected previous vaulted content.

According to Fortnite GG, the game is flaunting a new all-time player peak, with just over 11 million players jumping into the game. Presently, at the time of publication, there are nearly 6 million players online now. This is already consistently higher than Fortnite OG, with Lego Fortnite drawing over 2 million players alone. Considering that the new survival mode only launched mere days ago, this is a mightily impressive accolade for Epic Games.

This only set to increase, though. We all know what the Fortnite Festival song list contains, and along with The Weeknd headlining the new mode’s debut, his presence will absolutely bolster another surge in Fortnite players. Developed by Rock Band studio Harmonix, Fortnite Festival is set to take the families elements of the rhythm game genre you love from Rock Band or Guitar Hero, and merge it with the vibrant ever-changing world of one of the best multiplayer games on PS5 and Xbox.

Fortnite Festival will feature its own battle pass, where you can earn various instrument cosmetics, songs, emotes, and more. With The Weeknd coming along as the major act in Fortnite Festival, we’re curious to see who will take the stage once his virtual residency is over. Could that long-rumored Lady Gaga leak come to fruition?

The Poker Face superstar will be featuring in Todd Philips’ Joker sequel movie next year, so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to capitalize on this. Not that Gaga needs the boost, of course.
