If there is one thing that Fortnite has, it is variety. Each seasonal update experiments with new things, and includes an abundance of crossovers to boot, too. In arguably one of the most monumental updates in Epic Games’ history, Fortnite OG takes players back to joyous time, which is all the way to Fortnite Chapter 1 in 2018. And the wait is over too, as Epic Games ushers the update into the game now.
“Drop in the original island once again in Fortnite battle royale Chapter 4 Season OG. Throughout ‘Fortnite OG’ each major update will bring a different phase of Battle Royale’s past,” Epic Games explains in a new blog post. To kick things off for one of the best battle royale games around, the developer states this begins with revisiting Chapter 1 Season 5.
It’ll be a real treat too if you’re a long-time Fortnite player, as this update also sees “Shopping Carts, ATKs, the Assault Rifle, Pump Shotgun, and more in both Battle Royale and Zero Build.” While Chapter specific items will be added in overtime, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll disappear when another Chapter arrives in the game. Epic Games details that “some of the unvaulted gear in each update will remain for that update, be in more than one update, or stay for the rest of Fortnite OG.”
The biggest draw is undoubtedly the return of the classic Fortnite map, and that means you can drop into the hottest spot in the game’s history: Tilted Towers. It won’t easy securing a safe landing spot, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Alongside Tilted Towers, you also explore places like Greasy Grove, Risky Reel, and Retail Row.
You can even meet your friends on the Pleasant Park streets, which was often a place marked on the map for many players in the past. How will you travel around the map, and what loot will you acquire? Here’s a breakdown of the unvaulted items that are live in the game:
- Damage Trap
- Boogie Bomb
- Shopping Carts
- Assault Rifle
- Pump Shotgun
The update is so highly coveted for one of the best multiplayer games available, as you can observe an incredible surge in ongoing sessions, with over 3,900,000 are dropping into matches right this second. That’s according to Fortnite.GG‘s tracking metrics, which shows an increase from 3,300,000 just mere hours ago at the time of publication.
It goes to show how potent Fortnite’s legacy is, and updates like this cement it as one of the best games to team up with your friends on. So, what are you waiting for? Good luck.
