Here’s when the Destiny 2 servers come back online for Lightfall

The Lightfall expansion is almost here and Bungie has detailed when the Destiny 2 server downtime starts and how long we have to wait until it's all over again.

We know we’ve been saying this quite a lot over the last few weeks, but it’s actually time to lock and load, Guardians; the Destiny 2 Lightfall expansion is very-nearly upon us and it’s time to talk about the inevitable Destiny 2 Lightfall server downtime and how long we’re all going to have to wait without this looter shooter before we can jump back in and start on the new content.

If you’re someone who remembers how Bungie handled things when The Witch Queen dropped, you may know what to expect already; the developer isn’t changing anything too much in terms of how it’s going to handle the major update. That means the Destiny 2 Lightfall server downtime starts at 09:00 PST / 12:00 EST / 17:00 GMT on February 27 – and then those of you who haven’t looked into the Destiny 2 Lightfall preload, you will be able to start that process.

As explained in this Destiny 2 social media post, the server downtime is going to last roughly 24 hours. This means that the Destiny 2 Lightfall release time should arrive very shortly. The Destiny 2 Lightfall servers will be back online at 09:00 PST / 12:00 EST / 17:00 GMT on February 28. Well, this is when they’re expected to be back online; we wouldn’t be surprised to see some server issues come launch.

We know a whole 24 hours is quite a long time to be without Destiny 2, especially when you think about the mad rush to collect all the Destiny 2 Witch Queen Exotics and prepare for the new Destiny 2 Lightfall Power cap that’s going on. But, we promise it will be worthwhile.

This is, if anything, a fantastic time to read up on the Destiny 2 Cloud Striders lore and the Destiny 2 Neomuna lore ahead of the update – as, if there’s one thing this game can be, it’s confusing. However, this short trailer should give you something of a TLDR on what’s coming.

We also have a refresher on the Destiny 2 Guardians Ranks for you right here – something that’s changing slightly going into Lightfall.

We know this is one of the best FPS games out there already, but Bungie is really stepping things up with Lightfall and we can’t wait to find out just what The Witness wants and how things are going to change going forwards.
