The Call of Duty franchise features maps that we’ve all come to respect as the best in the FPS genre, with many of them hailing from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. Now, with the original 16 maps returning for Modern Warfare 3, Activision is celebrating the MW3 launch in a big way – by bringing the iconic map Terminal to life. They’ll be doing it with some notable company too, as YouTuber Jon ‘MrDalekJD‘ Hutchinson, former OpTic Gaming star James ‘Spratt‘ Spratt, and Twitch streamer ‘Sunpi‘ collabroation for the event.
Announcing details regarding the new Call of Duty event, Activision explains the Modern Warfare 3 event teams up with “MrDalekJD, Spratt and Sunpi, to give players a chance to attend an exclusive launch event, where the venue is inspired by much loved multiplayer map, Terminal.” Taking inspiration from of the best FPS games available, the new statement says that “the three content creators are dropping three challenges” which are linked MW3 multiplayer, MW3 missions, and MW3 Zombies moments as the Modern Warfare 3 release date approaches.
Taking place on Thursday, November 9, 2023, attendees can expect to be whisked through the “heart of London, but the venue will be revealed much closer to launch.” Furthermore, the Terminal event will see players “transported through PlayStation Airlines check-in, straight through to security and will then be greeted by a buzzing Terminal experience.” It is also a chance to get hands-on with MW3 early access, while experiencing “a live music performance from special guests, plus much more.”
You can get a look at the MW3 version of Terminal above, which will undoubtedly be one of the MW3 maps highlights. Terminal, like other classic maps such as Nuketown from the Black Ops series, has undergone several makeovers in different Call of Duty games. Infinite Warfare features a version of the map set completely in space, with a futuristic aesthetic not unlike Nuketown 2025 from Black Ops 2.
MrDalekJD and Spratt remain prolific names with the Call of Duty community, with the former continuing to be an anchor with the COD Zombies community alongside other YouTubers such as ‘CodeNamePizza’. Sunpi is often seen streaming on Twitch, participating in ‘Just Chatting’ streams or diving into new PS5 games or new Xbox games like Starfield.
Spratt, who used to be a content creator for OpTic Gaming, left the famed organization in 2019. Explaining the situation at the time, Spratt says that he “joined OpTic at a very obscure point in its timeline, but still went into it with passion and confidence. But change happened, which affected OpTic, the members and its viewers.”
You can try and secure your own spot for the event here, but in the meantime, there is a lot to catch up on before the game arrives. Here’s what we know about the MW3 Season 1 release date, as well as all the currently confirmed MW3 guns to use across Zombies, multiplayer, and the brand-new Warzone map.
