MW3 Aftermarket Parts: A soldier wearing a blue and yellow uniform with a blue helmet and mask, holding a weapon at the ready. In the background is a blurred image of an Aftermarket Part in the customizations screen.

How do you unlock MW3 Aftermarket Parts? Every year the weapon customization in Call of Duty changes in some form or another. A new mechanic gets added, a new attachment slot shakes things up, new customization options are available, that sort of thing. But, for Modern Warfare 3, Sledgehammer Games is changing things up drastically with the MW3 Aftermarket Parts system. So, here are all the Aftermarket Parts and how to unlock them for yourself, including all the new Season 1 Aftermarket Parts.

The Call of Duty MW3 Aftermarket Parts system gives you even more control over your weaponry than ever before, complementing the MW3 Gunsmith and MW3 camos functionality massively. With a staggering array of MW3 guns, including brand-new and returning ones, multiplayer and MW3 Zombies is a blast. Check out our Call of Duty MW3 review to find out more.

What are Aftermarket Parts in MW3?

Aftermarket Parts in Modern Warfare 3 are unique attachments and complete conversions for certain weapons, affecting how each gun performs. For example, the MCW JAK Raven Kit turns the weapon into a more mobile assault rifle, while dropping the recoil control.

You can still add various attachments when you use most conversion kits, allowing you to make it more powerful and turn some of the best MW3 loadouts on their heads.

All MW3 Aftermarket Parts

The 20 MW3 Aftermarket Parts are:

At launch, there were only 11 Aftermarket Parts, with each one having a designated unlock challenge. This didn’t seem like much considering there were 37 new guns in MW3 at launch (and 77 returning weapons from MW2), though more Aftermarket Parts are added each Season after launch. For example MW3 Season 1 brings nine new Parts to multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone, bringing the total to 20.

Right now, there are two main ways to earn and unlock Aftermarket Parts: Weekly Challenges and Armory Challenges. Going forward, Aftermarket Parts generally launch as Weekly Challenges, requiring you to complete a set of objectives to unlock it. However, once the specific challenge expires at the end of the Season, the Aftermarket Part will then be available through Armory Challenges, which don’t expire.

So, even if you miss out on an Aftermarket Part Weekly Challenge, fret not, you’ll still be able to get it again further down the road when it’s added to the standard list of unlocks.

As for most of the launch MW3 Aftermarket Parts, however, many of these have gone straight into the Armory unlocks system. These simply require you to activate one as your current challenge and then complete a specified number of Daily Challenges to unlock it. Thankfully, given there’s already lots of equipment and items on the Armory page, you can, in fact, filter it to display just Aftermarket Parts using the tabs at the top of the menu.

Whichever source the Part comes from, you’ll need the relevant gun to be at max weapon level before you can use the Aftermarket Part. So, hop back into multiplayer, Zombies, or Warzone and get grinding!

These MW3 Aftermarket Parts can greatly impact how each gun performs, so look at our guide to the MW3 best guns to learn more about the most optimal setups.

JAK Purifier

  • Compatability – MCW, MTZ-556, Holger 556, DG-56, SVA 545, RAM-7, MTZ-762, BAS-B, Sidewinder, Riveter
  • Unlock – Season 1 Battle Pass

Available in Season 1, the JAK Purifier is an underbarrel flamethrower that can be equipped on a variety of assault rifles, battle rifles, and even the Riveter shotgun. Given it’s expected to have a fast swap speed, the JAK Purifier could be a perfect backup weapon for when things get hairy, though its effectiveness will largely come down to its range and stopping power.

JAK Ettin Double Barrel Kit – AMR9

The JAK Ettin Double Barrel Kit, available for the AMR9 SMG in Season 1, adds even more firepower to this already popular SMG. By creating two stacked barrels that fire simultaneously, you’ll be able to dish out more damage at the cost of accuracy. Akin to akimbo attachments, the JAK Ettin Double Barrel Kit could be the new meta for the AMR9 so long as its natural range and accuracy aren’t sacrificed too much for the extra DPS.

JAK Thunder LMG Kit – Sidewinder

A new addition in Season 1, the JAK Thunder LMG Kit turns the abysmal Sidewinder battle rifle into an LMG. With a large magazine and a fire rate that ramps up the longer you fire, it could finally be time for the Sidewinder to shine – though we doubt it.

JAK Signal Burst – Holger 556

Available on the Holger 556 assault rifle in Season 1, the JAK Signal Burst is a potentially superb conversion kit for this already popular gun. Designed for accuracy and reliability, the JAK Signal Burst turns the Holger 556 into a four-round burst rifle. While burst firing patterns certainly aren’t for everyone, it’s hard to deny that they can be broken from time to time, such as the DG-58.

Check out our MW3 Holger 556 loadout to learn more about the meta weapon.

JAK Beholder Rifle Kit – Tyr

Rise up Tyr mains, the JAK Beholder Season 1 Aftermarket Part gives this deadly handgun a new way to play. By adding a long barrel to increase range, recoil control, and damage range, the Tyr becomes a single-shot rifle. If you’ve got the aim to back it up, the Tyr could become even more deadly with this Part.

JAK Headhunter Carbine Conversion – Rival-9

The Rival-9 SMG is already a meta weapon, but the JAK Headhunter Carbine Conversion could amp it up even more. By turning the Rival-9 into a three-round burst carbine, the Rival-9 will be able to rival assault rifles at mid-range. We can only hope its scrappy close-range performance isn’t obliterated in the process.

JAK BRB

  • Compatability – Several assault rifles, SMGs, battle rifles, marksman rifles, and sniper rifles

Available during Season 1, the JAK BRB is a new compensator attachment for a large number of weapons. What makes this Aftermarket Part so interesting is that its significant reductions to recoil come at the cost of revealing you on the enemies’ minimap for longer. In effect, you’ll be trading stealth for raw performance.

JAK Bullseye

The JAK Bullseye Aftermarket Part is a very low-profile optic that offers an exceptionally clear sight. Though it’s currently unknown what weapons can be used on, we all love a sleek optic. As such, the JAK Bullseye could be a new meta-pick.

JAK Glassless Optic

Added in Season 1, the JAK Glassles Optic is a small reflex sight that makes target acquisition a breeze thanks to its crystal clear view. Like the JAK Bullseye, we welcome new optics to change up the meta.

MW3 Aftermarket Parts: The JAK Raven Kit for the MCW assault rifle.

JAK Raven Kit – MCW

  • Weekly Challenge unlock – Complete any five challenges from Week 1
  • Standard Armory Challenge unlock – Becomes available after the pre-Season

The JAK Raven Kit is an Aftermarket Part for the MCW assault rifle that arguably makes the best MW3 MCW loadout even more deadly. This .300 conversion of the reliable AR is highly versatile and hard-hitting. With its modularity, you’re still able to customize this weapon significantly with this Aftermarket Part active.

MW3 Aftermarket Parts: The Week 1 challenges menu which shows the missions you need to complete to unlock the MCW JAK Raven Kit.

MCW Jak Raven Kit stats:

  • + Tier three hip fire and Tac Stance spread
  • + Tier three mobility and handling
  • + Tier two rate of fire
  • – Tier three recoil control
  • – Tier three bullet velocity and range
  • – Tier two damage

This sounds pretty damning, especially the direct reduction of damage, bullet velocity, and range. However, with the right attachments, you can compensate for the negative effects of these latter two stats. This lets you take advantage of the overall faster rate of fire for a higher time-to-kill (TTK) in close range.

It also pushes you towards a Tac Stance playstyle, which can be further improved by attachments and you’ll be surprised at just how effective this setup can be.

We’ve found the JAK Raven Kit to be one of the best Aftermarket Parts in the game. The MCW already has great damage and overall recoil control, so turning it into a more mobile weapon can make it a devastatingly strong gun. Some of the meta loadouts include this conversion kit for good reason, and we’d recommend giving it a try when you unlock it.

In action, you’ll have an assault rifle that behaves more like an SMG, despite still having the benefits of being an assault rifle, like a slightly longer range than a standard submachine gun.

MW3 Aftermarket Parts: The challenges to unlock the DG-58 LSW JAK Nightshade Rifle Kit.

JAK Nightshade Rifle Kit – DG-58 LSW

  • Weekly Challenge unlock – Complete any five challenges from Week 2
  • Standard Armory Challenge unlock – Becomes available after the pre-season

The DG-58 LSW is a rather clunky light machine gun by default (though still snappier than the other LMGs), so the addition of the JAK Nightshade Rifle Kit is a welcome one. This Aftermarket Part makes the DG-58 LSW a much more aggressive and agile LMG than you might expect, pushing it more toward the assault rifle category.

DG-58 LSW JAK Nightshade Rifle Kit stats:

  • + Tier three mobility and handling
  • + Tier three Tac Stance spread
  • + Tier two rate of fire
  • – Tier three bullet velocity and range
  • – Tier three damage
  • – Tier two magazine ammo capacity

With this much slimmer profile still packing the punch of an LMG, you’re going to want to focus on controlling the hefty recoil. If you’re using the JAK Nightshade DG-58 LSW, then we recommend recoil control attachments like the XTEN Ported 290, Varanus Steady Grip, and the Recoil Reduction stock. These let you better take advantage of this heavy-hitting LMG-carbine hybrid.

MW3 Aftermarket Parts: The JAK Heretic Carbine Kit for the MTZ-762 battle rifle.

JAK Heretic Carbine Kit – MTZ-762

  • Weekly Challenge unlock – N/A
  • Standard Armory Challenge unlock – Reach max weapon level and get 30 kills with full attachments

The JAK Heretic Carbine Kit for the MTZ-762 battle rifle is an Aftermarket Part designed with power and an aggressive playstyle in mind. Shortening the barrel, padding the stock, and increasing the magazine size, make the MTZ-762 battle rifle into a carbine, letting it be a little more competitive and scrappy, so long as you’ve got the aim to land shots.

MW3 Aftermarket Parts: The Broodmother 0.45 Kit for the WSP-9 SMG.

Broodmother .45 Kit – WSP-9

  • Weekly Challenge unlock – N/A
  • Standard Armory Challenge unlock – Complete three Daily Challenges

The Broodmother .45 Kit is a high-damage conversion kit for the WSP-9 SMG, an already powerful weapon for close-quarters fights. However, this WSP-9 Aftermarket Part really helps the weapon shine at slightly longer ranges, blurring the lines between an SMG and an assault rifle thanks to increased range and accuracy over its base model due to the .45 Auto rounds it now uses.

MW3 Aftermarket Parts: The Armory unlock screen showing the challenges required to unlock the Broodmother .45 Kit for the WSP 9.

To unlock the WSP-9 Broodmother .45 Kit, you’ll have to activate the challenge in the Armory unlock menu and complete three Daily Challenges.

MW3 Aftermarket Parts: The JAK Annihilator Bullpup Kit for the Pulemyot 762 LMG.

JAK Annihilator Bullpup Kit – Pulemyot 762

  • Weekly Challenge unlock – N/A
  • Standard Armory Challenge unlock – Reach max weapon level and get 25 kills while hip firing or using Tac-Stance

The JAK Annihilator Bullpup Kit for the Pulemyot 762 LMG is an Aftermarket Part that does what it says on the tin, turning this sluggish machine gun into a more agile, bullpup weapon. By all but removing the stock, the Pulemyot 762 has never been so small, providing superior maneuverability. It also receives better handling and rate of fire, as well as better hip fire and Tac Stance accuracy. However, it’s not quite an SMG, so it’s still hefty with its massive magazine, though this lets it deliver heavy, consistent fire down range.

MW3 Aftermarket Parts: The Pulemyot JAK Annihilator Bullpup Kit in the weapon customization screen.

Pulemyot JAK Annihilator Bullpup Kit stats:

  • + Tier three mobility and handling
  • + Tier three rate of fire
  • + Tier three hip fire and Tac Stance spread
  • + Tier three aim down sight speed
  • – Tier two recoil control
  • – Tier two bullet velocity and range
  • – Tier two damage range
  • – Tier two weapon swap speed

With the absurd damage of this weapon, especially when paired with the attachments to improve mobility and recover some of the losses to the range, this Aftermarket Part setup is one of our favorite loadouts in multiplayer. Try it out for yourself and you’ll be surprised just how competitive you can be with this weapon at nearly all ranges, despite how grave the stats sheet looks for effective range.

MW3 Aftermarket Parts: The XRK IP-V2 Conversion Barrel for the COR-45 handgun.

XRK IP-V2 Conversion Barrel – COR-45

  • Weekly Challenge unlock – N/A
  • Standard Armory Challenge unlock – Get 25 kills with the COR-45 while using five attachments, or complete three Daily Challenges through the Armory unlock system

The XRK IP-V2 Conversion Barrel is an Aftermarket Part for the COR-45 sidearm that turns the weapon into a carbine. Sure, it’s not going to compete with assault rifles, battle rifles, or other long-range weapons, but it does help the COR-45 push further than a typical handgun.

MW3 Aftermarket Parts: The XRK IP-V2 Conversion Kit for the COR-45 handgun, showing its stats.

COR-45 XRK IP-V2 Conversion Kit stats:

  • Allows for Tactical Stance
  • + Tier three fire rate
  • + Tier three bullet velocity and range
  • + Tier three aiming idle sway
  • – Tier three aim down sight speed
  • – Tier two sprint to fire speed
  • – Tier two damage

Allowing for optics and underbarrel attachments, as well as featuring a binary fire function that effectively doubles the rate of fire, the COR-45 has never been more deadly. Overall, this makes it a much more reliable backup weapon to have with you if you’re not carrying two primary weapons.

MW3 Aftermarket Parts: The JAK Ferocity Carbine Kit on the Renetti handgun.

JAK Ferocity Carbine Kit – Renetti

  • Weekly Challenge unlock – N/A
  • Standard Armory Challenge unlock – Get 30 kills with five attachments equipped

The JAK Ferocity Carbine Kit is an Aftermarket Part that modifies the Renetti handgun using 3D-printed parts to turn it into, you guessed it, a carbine. The weapon will gain increased bullet velocity, range, and rate of fire, at the cost of slight mobility decreases and recoil control. In action, you’ll have a compact and agile SMG allowing for optic, stock, and underbarrel attachments, despite still being a handgun. We recommend adding a larger magazine so you’re reloading less often, and a barrel to increase range further.

MW3 Aftermarket Parts: The Renetti JAK Ferocity Carbine Kit in the weapon customization screen, displaying its stats.

Renetti JAK Ferocity Carbine Kit stats:

  • Allows for full-auto fire
  • Allows for Tactical Stance
  • + Tier three bullet velocity and range
  • + Tier two aiming idle sway
  • – Tier three aim down sight speed
  • – Tier three sprint to fire speed
  • – Tier one sprint speed
  • – Tier one movement speed

From the stats, you’ll notice that you’ll be trading overall mobility for range, after all, you are turning a handgun into a carbine. What this means for your loadouts is that you can effectively get an SMG equivalent without needing to equip the Gunner Vest or Overkill Vest that replaces the Overkill Perk from MW2. In other words, you have much greater loadout opportunities as a result! What’s not to love?

MW3 Aftermarket Parts: The WSP Akimbo Brace Stocks on the WSP Swarm sidearm in the customization screen.

WSP Akimbo Brace Stocks – WSP Swarm

  • Weekly Challenge unlock – Complete any 5 challenges from Week 3
  • Standard Armory Challenge unlock – N/A

The WSP Akimbo Brace Stocks Aftermarket Part turns the already lethal WSP Swarm SMG into a dual-wield beast that shreds enemies at close range. By adding additional support to the weapon’s frame, this nimble full-auto SMG can be used in an aggressive akimbo stance that sacrifices range and mobility for raw firepower. With two guns in each hand and a high rate of fire, missing shots aren’t all that big a deal among a rain of bullets. However, you won’t be able to aim down sights, so we recommend staying mobile and using Lightweight Boots to close the gap.

WSP-9 Akimbo Brace Stocks stats:

  • Allows for akimbo
  • – Tier one move, strafe, and sprint speed
  • – Tier one bullet velocity and range
  • – Tier one sprint to fire speed
  • – Tier one damage range

As for attachments, you’re going to want to pair this MW3 Aftermarket Part is a laser to improve hip-fire accuracy at the very least. Given the emphasis on aggressive play, a suppressor is also a great pairing so that you can better get the drop on your enemy and send them back to the respawn screen before they even know what hit them.

This makes it an incredible Aftermarket Part to focus on unlocking. The WSP Swarm is already a scarily fast gun on its own, so having two at once is even scarier, for your enemies at least. Considering the weekly challenges for Week 3 are pretty easy to complete without thinking about it, we’d recommend giving this a try.

MW3 Aftermarket Parts: The Armory unlock screen showing the objectives required to unlock the MCW 6.8 Full-Auto Conversion Kit.

MCW 6.8 Full-Auto Conversion Kit – MCW 6.8

  • Weekly Challenge unlock – N/A
  • Standard Armory Challenge unlock – Complete three Daily Challenges in the Armory unlock system

The MCW 6.8 might not be the most competitive weapon in the meta – marksman rifles in general often struggle – though this conversion kit turns it into a full-auto beast. Boasting the full power of the marksman rifle class, this Aftermarket Part effectively turns the weapon into a high-powered assault rifle.

MW3 Aftermarket Parts: The Armory unlock challenge for the Intlas CAS-14 optic.

Intlas CAS-14 – optic

  • Weekly Challenge unlock – N/A
  • Standard Armory Challenge unlock – Complete two Daily Challenges in the Armory unlock system

The Intlas CAS-14 is a 2.5x optic that’s perfect for medium ranges, especially since it comes with an integrated laser. So, if you’ve got a favorite assault rifle, battle rifle, marksman rifle, or even a sniper, it’s worth unlocking this sight.

MW3 Aftermarket Parts: The Cronen Intlas MSP-12 optic in the Armory unlock challenge page.

Cronen Intlas MSP-12 – optic

  • Weekly Challenge unlock – N/A
  • Standard Armory Challenge unlock – Complete three Daily Challenges in the Armory unlock system

The Cronen Intlas MSP-12 is a red dot optic that comes with an integrated laser for enhanced accuracy. Given it has no magnification, we recommend using this on SMGs, assault rifles, and any other close-range loadouts you use. Given it’s not actually all that different from the existing (and already large) collection of red dot sights, it’s not particularly worth chasing right away though.
