Sorry Han Solo, Star Wars Outlaws’ Kay Vess is the slickest scoundrel

Ubisoft has just shared another great look at Star Wars Outlaws' Kay Vess and cements her as a badass for PS5 and Xbox players to explore the Galaxy with soon.

Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws is shaping up to be one of the coolest upcoming Xbox games from the developer, and one of the many upcoming PS5 games worth keeping an eye on if you enjoy exploring A Galaxy Far, Far Away. Although, how much do we really know about this game? Well, aside from the fact that the hot droid only has one tattered trench coat, we now know that Star Wars Outlaws’ Kay Vess is going to be the biggest badass in the Galaxy. Sorry, Han Solo – your time as the slickest scoundrel is up.

Ahead of more details on Star Wars Outlaws’ release date, Ubisoft has shared a Star Wars Outlaws visual character guide (which you can download for yourself here) with the world and it’s truly magnificent. Not only do we get a good look at all the scrapes and scars that make ND-5 one of a kind, we also get quite a few interesting details about Kay Vess – you know, the protagonist and all-round badass – and her default appearance.

What do we learn about Kay that makes her the biggest badass in Star Wars, though? Well, where do we begin…

As you can see below, Kay Vess – seemingly by default – has a broken nose (and an adorable Nix tattoo). We don’t know how Kay breaks her nose, but we think it’s safe to assume that she picked this up getting into a scrap with some unsavory members of the Galactic Underworld – maybe some henchmen of the Pyke Syndicate or a bounty hunter?

Wherever she picked this up, it shows she’s not afraid to get into a fight when she needs to and – as injuries go – it’s pretty badass. Don’t see Han Solo rocking a war wound like that, do you? He’s far too precious about his good looks for that.

Next up, we have this detail about Kay’s loose bun and the fact that she uses a Data Spike strapped to a stick dice as a hairpin. If that isn’t practical, we don’t know what is. Practicality is pretty badass – when it involves splicing tech and fashioning yourself a slick hairstyle, anyway. Who knows what secret areas in any one of Star Wars Outlaws’ planets she’ll sneak into with this Data Spike?

You can check out some more details about that below:

What about Kay’s comfy-looking jacket? That already looks pretty badass, but how could it be any cooler? Well, according to this detail in Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws visual character guide, Kay always wears her collar up.

Yeah, that’s right. This gunmetal bomber is rocking an upright collar. At. All. Times. Badass.

Is that all? Ha, of course not. In an examination of Kay Vess’ slacks, we also learn that she keeps her holster “unbuttoned most of the time” – which means she’s always quick on the draw. Sure, everyone knows that Han really shot first, but it sounds like he’s going to have a run for his money when it comes to being the fastest gunslinger in the Outer Rim. Out of all the characters we need to see Kay Vess work with in Star Wars Outlaws, Han Solo isn’t one of them.

Now that he would be able to work with her, anyway, on account of being frozen in carbonite. What a loser.

If you look closely, you’ll also see that she has “Comfortable Textile Shoes” and what’s more badass that comfort? Okay, you don’t need to answer that one. Whether you want to be in excrutiating foot pain or not, everything about Kay Vess screams badass. We’re not saying this alone will make this one of the best Star Wars games ever, but she certainly seems a lot more interesting than Cal Kestis – sorry, not sorry.

If you want to know a little bit more about Star Wars Outlaws, outside of Kay Vess’ fit, you can find out more about why playing nice with all the factions is going to be the real secret to success here and how Star Wars Outlaws sounds like it’s going to be absolutely massive. Can you tell we can’t wait to play?
