Saints Row Reboot co-op details, co-op campaign, cross-play, and more

Saints Row's reboot is bringing co-op back but there are a few quirks as to how it will work

Players can be seen fighting in the streets of Santo Ileso.

Saints Row’s newly announced reboot is bringing back co-op which has been a staple in the series. Co-op will allow you to experience the world of Santo Ileso with a friend, committing crimes and generally causing mayhem for everyone who lives in the region.

Despite being a modern, realistic rebootVolition is keeping some core tenants of the franchise such as its driving and combat, and even some activities that are beloved in the series, such as Insurance Fraud. Co-op is one of those aspects of the Saints Row series that is coming back with this reboot as it is core to the experience Saints Row offers.

But, enough talking about co-op’s place in the Saints Row franchise, let’s get into all the co-op details we know about and how the co-op campaign will work when completing the story with your friends.

Saints Row Reboot Co-op

Saints Row’s reboot will include co-op with Volition saying that it is an “important part” of the series.

The entire campaign will be playable in two-player co-op from start to finish, so you can experience the entire thing with a friend.

Saints Row Reboot Four-Player Multiplayer

The Saints Row reboot does not have four-player multiplayer. Despite a number of games coming along with this support since Saints Row 4, the only multiplayer offering in Saints Row is two-player co-op.

You won’t be riding around with your crew committing crimes like in GTA Online here.

Two characters stand in an alley.

Saints Row Reboot Cross-Gen Co-op

Saints Row will support cross-gen co-op, meaning that players in the same console family can play with one another, no matter whether they own a PS4 or PS5, or an Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Saints Row’s reboot does not have cross-play, at least as of right now. We still have around half a year until the game’s launch, so Volition may work on adding it into the game.

But, right now, cross-play isn’t planned, so you won’t be able to play with your friends if they are on a different console family to you.

That covers Saints Row’s co-op for the reboot. To keep up to date with everything we know about the game, including the Saints Row Reboot release date, check out our full guide.
