- Tips: Early in the campaign, you’re asked to choose from four different rewards. The Hot Shot happens to be the top option, as it’s one of the best mods in Remnant 2. If you have a full-auto weapon, such as the XMG57 Bonesaw or Blackmaw AR-47, then all bullets will cause the burning status effect while the buff is active. It’s a quick and easy way to melt most elites and bosses.
Voltaic Rondure
- Location and boss: Losomn — Great Sewers – Defeat the Bloat King.
Material: Bone Sap. - Effect: Launches a slow-moving orb that deals shock damage and applies overload to nearby enemies; the orb lasts 20 seconds.
- Tips: The Voltaic Rondure is viable early on, especially since it causes constant shock damage to hostiles that are near the orb. Ideally, though, you’ll use it in cramped quarters or interiors, so the orb doesn’t fly away into the distance too soon.
Corrosive Rounds
- Location and boss: Losomn – Shattered Gallery — Defeat Magister Dullain.
- Material: Tainted Ichor.
- Effect: Imbues ammunition with acid and increases ranged critical chance by 15% for 20 seconds; shots apply the corroded status, which also deals damage over time.
- Tips: This is an alternative to Hot Shot, as it causes acid damage and the corroded status effect instead.
Helix
- Location and boss: Yaesha – Astropath’s Respite — Defeat the Astropath.
- Material: Seeker Residue.
- Effect: Shoots multiple missiles that deal damage, before splitting into smaller rockets that track targets.
- Tips: Helix is good for slow-firing guns and close-quarters combat. Shoot a barrage of missiles directly at your foe, and watch as other missiles continue to track and pepper them with hits.
Astral Burst
- Location and boss: Yaesha – Cathedral of Omens — Solve the Cathedral of Omens puzzle.
- Material: Faith Seed.
- Effect: Shoots a burst of seven-star fragments that can bounce off walls up to three times.
- Tips: Astral Burst is akin to Helix in that there are also multiple projectiles. This time, though, they’ll bounce off walls. This is a decent option if you’re facing enemies in caverns, tunnels, and narrow corridors.
Fargazer
- Location and boss: Yaesha – Twisted Chantry — Defeat Legion.
- Material: Agnosia Driftwood.
- Effect: Creates an Eye of Legion that applies a stack of madness when you aim and look at targets. Each stack, up to a maximum of 10, deals damage; and lasts up to 30 seconds.
- Tips: Fargazer’s effect has decent uptime when activated considering how often you aim-down-sights while targeting enemies.
Defrag
- Location and boss: Root Earth – Ashen Wasteland — Defeat Cancer.
- Material: Necrocyte Strand.
- Effect: Shots apply the fragmented effect, which creates a “glitch” when an enemy dies. Picking up this glitch increases damage by 20% for 15 seconds. You may also destroy the glitch to create a pool to deal damage and apply the fragmented effect to all enemies within it.
- Tips: Defrag is one of the best Remnant 2 mods, though it comes fairly late in the campaign. It offers multiple boons, such as a damage buff, AoE damage, and the potential to spread the fragmented effect once more, leading to a deadly cycle.
