You can upgrade gear in Hogwarts Legacy using the Enchanted Loom in the Room of Requirement, enhancing stats in the process. The Loom can be conjured during the main quest The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and The Loom. The Loom allows you to boost the Offence or Defence stats, add a secondary stat and imbue gear with Traits.
All of this allows you to boost the power of your character through a host of the Hogwarts Legacy character customisation options. The Hogwarts Legacy Traits are the real shining upgrade out of the lot as they allow you to deal increased damage to various types of enemies and deal more damage with tools or spells. They are key to being able to really craft Hogwarts Legacy builds that suit your playstyle, so be sure to focus on the Hogwarts Legacy quests as much as possible until you unlock them.
But, the added bonus is that adding a secondary stat allows you to give the gear piece either a defence or offence boost (whichever isn’t on the piece of gear already).
