We spent our Hogwarts Legacy review playtime messing around with all of the Hogwarts Legacy talents and the Hogwarts Legacy best spells. So, whether you prefer to turn your character into a Dark Arts aficionado or want to have some great all-round stats, these builds could be great for you. It’s worth mentioning that there is a Hogwarts Legacy level cap, so you can’t buy every talent in the game.
Hogwarts Legacy All-Rounder build
If you’re hoping for a build that helps you in most cases, this is the one for you. For the All-Rounder build, we’re looking at having mostly balanced stats all around, which should keep you strong in most cases.
- Spells: Glacius, Arresto Momentum, Levioso, Descendo, Expelliarmus, Depulso
- Talents: Basic Cast Mastery, Swift, Stupefy Mastery, Basic Cast Airborne Absorption, Descendo Mastery, Levioso Mastery
- Traits: Ancient Magic Focus, Control, Disarming, Protego Shielding, Goblin-Silver Resistance
For the spells, you’ll want something that can slow down combat so you can keep enemies at bay while dealing moderate damage.
The basic combo of these spells is to freeze (or slow) enemies with Glacius or Arresto Momentum, Levioso to pick them up and Descendo to bring them down, dealing decent damage.
The focus of the talents for the All-Rounder build is to make sure the spells above are stronger, as well as your essential skills across the board.

Hogwarts Legacy Dark Wizard build
If you have a bit of a dark side, then the Dark Wizard build for Hogwarts Legacy is likely for you. This build will help you use the Hogwarts Legacy Unforgivable Curses to your advantage.
- Spells: Avada Kedavra, Crucio, Imperio, Diffindo, Expelliarmus, Incendio, Accio
- Talents: Basic Cast Mastery, Swift, Wiggenweld Potency, Crucio Mastery, Imperio Mastery, Curse Sapper, Blood Curse
- Traits: Control, Concentration, Disarming, Manipulation, Unforgivable, Anicent Magic Focus
There are only three Unforgivable Curses, so you’ll need to use some spells that work well with them. Preferably, we recommend Damage spells as they can work well against cursed enemies.
There are plenty of talents that work well with the Dark Wizard build, especially those in the Dark Arts category. You’ll also want some Core talents to help reduce the Hogwarts Legacy spell cooldown.

Hogwarts Legacy Damage build
If you’re hoping to deal lots of damage to any enemies in your path, the Damage build could be your best option. This build aims to increase the power of your key spells, while also bringing up your survival chances.
- Spells: Confringo, Diffindo, Bombarda, Expelliarmus, Incendio, Levioso, Transformation
- Talents: Basic Cast Mastery, Swift, Diffindo Mastery, Incendio Mastery, Confringo Mastery, Transformation Mastery
- Traits: Destruction, Disarming, Explosive, Scorching, Control
Of course, the key highlights here are the Damage spells, which you learn during your Hogwarts Legacy classes and lessons. However, there are a few other spells we recommend.
