This exclusive Diablo 4 reward isn’t easy to claim in Warzone

Diablo 4 Season 2 is live now for PS5 and Xbox players, but if you want The Butcher's Meat Hook, you'll need to drop into Call of Duty Warzone first.

Diablo 4 Butchers Meat Hook reward Warzone

Diablo 4 Season of Blood kicks off now for PS5 and Xbox players, albeit after a slight delay for the Blizzard Entertainment RPG. There are new rewards, quests, and more to get stuck into around Sanctuary, but it is actually Al Mazrah from Warzone that should be your next location visit. As part of The Haunting event, Diablo 4 players can get hold of this Call of Duty exclusive reward within a few steps.

If you need a break from grinding all the Diablo 4 Season of Blood uniques, then this foray away from one of 2023’s best RPG games into Warzone is a welcome change of scenery. “Drop into Al Mazrah (Night) or Vondead at any time during the Haunting event in Season 06, summon a portal to an otherworldly realm, and slay The Butcher to earn his prized Meat Hook in Diablo 4,” explains Activision in a recent blog post.

However, while there are new Call of Duty playlists to have fun, slaying The Butcher is no easy task. You’ll need one of the best Warzone loadouts available, or at the very least a selection from our list of best Warzone guns that occupying the current Warzone meta. Before you dive into the game, there are a few preliminary steps to follow regarding your Diablo 4 account:

  • Link your Battle.net account to your Activision account through the Call of Duty website
  • Defeat The Butcher (available within Al Mazrah and Vondead maps).
  • The Butcher’s Meat Hook will be applied to your account within 4 days

Don’t worry if you link your account after the battle. You can still link it up and access the reward, but you’ll need to all of these parameters before Monday, November 6, 2023. Furthermore, to see The Butcher’s Meat Hook transmog reward, Activision clarifies that “you must have a Scythe equipped in order to view the transmog.”

The Butcher is a fully-fledged boss fight akin to those you’ve likely seen in COD Zombies, YouTuber ‘MrDalekJD’ recommends getting this boss defeated in DMZ mode, rather than battle royale mode. Gather two other friends, too, as attempting it solo is near-impossible. Find the Altar logo on your map, which can be found at the “Observatory, Al Mazrah City, or [Zarqwa] Hydroelectric.”

Killing zombies at the Altar is required for each pillar of the location, which will eventually open the Nightmare Portal to the actual boss fight location. If you’ve got our trusty loadouts equipped, like this awesome Kastov 762 loadout, you’ll need to mow down The Butcher as a team. This whole process won’t be easy, especially if you’ve got other players trying to eliminate you. The Butcher puts up a decent fight too, so don’t underestimate his attacks.
