Diablo 4 streamer Ben sets world record with defeat of HC Uber Lilith

One of the hardest Diablo 4 bosses is slain in the Blizzard RPG, as Twitch streamer Ben is the world's first player to defeat the Diablo 4 Hardcore Uber Lilith.

Diablo 4 Hardcore Uber Lilith world record

There are plenty of foes waiting in the shadows in Diablo 4, and stepping into Diablo 4 Hardcore mode isn’t a walk in the park. Even if you’ve got some excellent Diablo 4 classes prepped for battle, one player is standing tall above all. Laying waste to many of the Diablo 4 bosses in their way, Twitch streamer ‘Ben’ is throwing down the gauntlet as they become the world’s first player to defeat the terrifying Diablo 4 Hardcore Uber Lilith.

The world record set by Ben, using his Diablo 4 Barbarian build known as ‘Spinnywinny’, is immortalized for everyone to enjoy via his recent stream. In a clip dubbed ‘first try’, Ben is dealing some astronomical damage to Echo of Lilith, reaching numbers as high as 113,287,672 per hit.

Achieving this with the Diablo 4 Barbarian skill tree is one way to replicate Ben’s feat, but most of this encounter has Ben using the Barbarian’s Whirlwind attack for the best chance of survival. Known to be with Team Liquid in the past under the alias Darkee, Ben describes himself as a “gamer just trying to game” on social media, but their Diablo 4 prowess makes that feel like a modest statement. After quitting World of Warcraft raiding back in January, Ben is still showing praise toward developer Blizzard due to Diablo 4’s exceptional gameplay.

The Diablo 4 pinnacle boss is insanely fun. So far the game has exceeded my expectations, hopefully, the future bosses they create are similar,” says the Twitch streamer on his Twitter page.

According to Wowhead, this magnificent achievement wouldn’t be possible without the aid of a “weird mechanic” first seen in the Diablo 4 beta. By using the damage buff Supreme Wrath of the Berserker, this is seemingly never disregarded by the Whirlwind ability and gives out continuous damage “based on Fury spent.”

The defeat of the game’s pinnacle boss encounter is impressive this early on in the game’s cycle, considering that associate game director Joe Piepiora claimed it would be an exceptional task to complete. “We do have a pinnacle boss encounter […] it’s extraordinarily, extraordinarily challenging,” says Piepiora to GamesRadar. Additionally, Piepiora explains that “the expectation is that you take your class, you understand your build, you’ve maximized everything that you possibly can about it, and you really have learned encountered very well.”

With all these challenges presenting themselves, you might ask yourself: is Diablo worth it? It may seem daunting at first but as one of the best games to drop in 2023, we recommend diving into the world of Sanctuary before the Diablo 4 Season 1 release date arrives. Even if you meet an early demise, who knows, Megan Fox might just honor your efforts.
