Guardians, if you’re looking for a new weapon, we think we know where you can get one that’s going to be unmissable. The new Destiny 2 Guardian Games scout rifle, the Taraxippos, is going to be one reward from this annual event worth gunning for. Of course, it’s not the only thing up for grabs during this Destiny 2 event, but here’s why the Taraxippos scout rifle is grabbing us – in a good way.
If you’re someone who likes to dabble in Destiny 2 PvP modes, the curated roll for this scout rifle comes equipped with both Zen Moment and Kill Clip. With Zen Moment reducing recoil and flinch when you do damage, this perk is perfect for a scout rifle. As for Kill Clip? Well, you don’t need us to tell you that getting a damage boost when you reload after a kill is going to be devastatingly effective in PvP modes.
However, if you can’t think of anything worse than jumping into a game of Gambit or a round in the Crucible, this is still going to be a decent scout rifle for this looter shooter’s PvE gameplay.
Looking at Light.gg, you can see that this scout rifle can also drop with perks like Explosive Payload (which does what it says on the tin), Hatchling (which spawns a Threadling on occasion), Fourth Time’s The Charm (which should help you maintain steady fire against hordes of enemies), and even Keep Away (which benefits a Guardian who keeps their distance).
It’s also worth noting that the Taraxippos has a Lightweight Frame – which would suit anyone using the best Destiny 2 Hunter build particularly. However, don’t think that using the best Destiny 2 Titan build or best Destiny 2 Warlock build is going to change anything; this scout rifle is going to be well worth keeping an eye out for.
Of course, as veteran Guardians will know, there are plenty of other rewards up for grabs during a Guardian Games event. If you want to know more about the Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2023 start date and the other Exotics on offer, you can find that out here.
However, we don’t know why all of the above information on the Tataxippos scout rifle isn’t enough to convince you that this event is worth your time. This could very well be one of the best Destiny 2 PvP weapons and best Destiny 2 PvE weapons rolled into one – if you get lucky.
