Okay, we know we’re a day late with this week’s Best Warzone Loadout of the Week entry, but we’ve been grinding for Modern Warfare 2 campaign rewards ahead of the full Modern Warfare 2 release date. So, can you blame us? Well, maybe you can – and we accept that. However, whether you like it or not, we’re back with another one of the best Warzone loadouts right now that pulls together a couple of the biggest hitters in the Warzone meta for a class that’s sure to help you become the best.
But, you don’t need to take our word for it – well, most of it. This Warzone loadout is built around Black Ops Cold War’s XM4 with recommendations from Call of Duty content creator ‘Marathon’ – someone who knows a thing or two about getting the most from the best Warzone weapons out there.
Elsewhere in the class, you can’t really go wrong with the best MP40 Warzone loadout as a secondary weapon – an SMG that featured in last week’s Best Warzone Loadout – and the meta picks when it comes to equipment and perks.
First things first, though. Let’s talk about this naughty little XM4 build that Marathon has put together. Here’s what you need to know:
- Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
- Barrel: 13.5” Task Force
- Laser: N/A
- Optic: Axial Arms 3x
- Stock: N/A
- Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
- Magazine: STANAG 60 Round Mag
- Rear Grip: N/A
Interestingly, on top of all this, Marathon recommends using the Scalper reticle with the Axial Arms 3x optic if you have it unlocked. If you don’t have this unlocked, then the Precision reticle is where you want to be looking. These options should help you with long-range visibility while using this sight.
Looking at Marathon’s MP40, we’re going to take a look back at a slightly older video for a build – one that they claim has no recoil. Here are the attachments you need to check out:

Filling out the rest of the loadout, we recommend you choose either Double Time or Serpentine for Perk One. Then, Overkill for Perk Two and Combat Scout for Perk Three. You’re then going to want to select Semtex or Throwing Knives as Lethals and Stuns or Stims as Tacticals.
