Now is the perfect time to play Alan Wake 2, as the BAFTA-winning horror game gets its price slashed with an awesome Xbox Spring Sale discount.

Alan Wake 2 is one of those games we’ll talk about for years to come. The game’s critical success reflects this too, and it’s just added two BAFTA awards to its multiple accolades from the DICE Awards, the Golden Joystick Awards, and more. Now you can see what all the fuss is about, as the Xbox Spring Sale brings Xbox owners a worthwhile discount to snap up.

If you head to the Xbox store right now, you can buy Alan Wake 2 for $47.99/£39.99 – an excellent 20% discount off of one of the best horror games of the decade. I had the honor of giving Remedy’s best-selling title a perfect 10/10 score in my Alan Wake 2 review, noting that “it’s visually astounding, thematically potent, and an absolute must for newcomers and fans alike.” The game recently took home two BAFTA wins for Artistic Achievement and Audio Achievement, and you’ll understand why when you set foot in Remedy’s surreal world.

I haven’t stopped thinking about the game since it came out, and I continue to dive back into the depths of The Dark Place in Alan Wake 2’s iteration of new game plus. That’s when I’m not listening to Herald of Darkness on repeat. Similar to Starfield’s new game plus mode, Alan Wake 2 rewards players for exploring its rousing story again. There are new secrets, different outcomes, and even a completely new ending to experience.

If you’re a massive fan of the Remedy Connected Universe, which includes the equally excellent Control, you need to see what Remedy is cooking up here. I just wish that Quantum Break was part of the fold because the time-bending implications would be wild. Once you’re done with the game’s story, there are more mind-breaking adventures to look forward to. Two Alan Wake 2 DLC packs are in the works, the first of which is rumored for a Spring 2024 release.

If you’re looking for more of the best Xbox games around to add to your basket with Alan Wake 2, new Xbox games like fellow BAFTA winner Baldur’s Gate 3, and the divisive (but over-hated) Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League have considerable discounts to take advantage of.
