We’d love to see what Larian Studios’ headquarters looks like right now because there are likely heaps of award statues on every surface. Baldur’s Gate 3 continues to be an unstoppable force on the awards circuit, this time sweeping up some wins at the BAFTA Game Awards. Not only did the acclaimed RPG scoop four new shiny trophies, but it also captured the hearts of PS5 and Xbox players with the fan-voted EE Players Choice Award.

If you weren’t convinced that Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the best RPG games of recent times, then perhaps its BAFTA award win for Best Game will sway you. The game also adds BAFTAs for Best Music, Best Narrative, and Performer in a Supporting Role to its accolades. The latter award was given to Andrew Wincott, the talent behind fan-favorite character Raphael. As mentioned, the fan-voted Players Choice Award also went to BG3.

“I still can’t believe we’re standing here […] a lot of people put a lot of heart and soul into making Baldur’s Gate 3, so this is amazing,” says Larian Studios’ CEO Swen Vincke while accepting the Best Game award. Additionally, lead writer Sarah Baylus called Baldur’s Gate 3’s Best Narrative win “an honor and a privilege.” This impressive BAFTA sweep contributes to over 30 total award wins, including accolades from the Golden Joystick Awards, the DICE Awards, and last year’s The Game Awards.

There’s no doubt that it is one of the best games on PS5 and Xbox right now, but it had some stiff competition to face off against.

Larian Studios faced off against Remedy Entertainment, with the latter’s acclaimed horror game Alan Wake 2 scooping up BAFTAs for Artistic Achievement and Audio Achievement. Both games shared great company with Spider-Man 2, one of the best PS5 games of this generation, as Nadji Jeter won Performer in a Leading Role for his work as Miles Morales. But with all these awards under Baldur’s Gate 3’s belt, what does Larian Studios plan to do next?

Well, it’s bad news if you were hoping for Baldur’s Gate 3 DLC. However, instead of post-launch content for BG3, the studio is working on not one, but two games right now. Getting multiple new PS5 games and new Xbox games is a trade-off we’ll definitely accept.
