It’s a new month, and Xbox Game Pass is back with yet another lovely lineup of top-quality games. From family-friendly adventures to supernatural delights, there’s plenty to get stuck into this month. And, even better, we’ll even be treated to some day-one additions in the form of MLB The Show 24 and Lightyear Frontier.

PlayStation’s San Diego Studio has consistently knocked it out of the park with its MLB The Show series, which stands among the best sports games out there. It’s certainly a weird one seeing Sony’s first-party baseball game make it to the list of Xbox Game Pass games, and not to the list of free PS Plus games, but hey, a win’s a win for Team Xbox when it arrives on March 19.

Lightyear Frontier, meanwhile, is the perfect cozy companion for farming game fans. From what we’ve seen it’s giving Slime Rancher with mechs, which is automatically grounds for a Game of the Year contendership. Also set to drop on March 19, you’ll have a hard time picking between the aforementioned games if you’re a fan of both genres.

Here’s the full list of new Xbox Game Pass games announced for the first half of March, as per the Xbox Wire article announcing the lineup:

  • Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun (Cloud, Console, and PC) – March 5
  • Paw Patrol World (Cloud, Console, and PC) – March 7
  • SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated (Cloud, Console, and PC) – March 12
  • Control Ultimate Edition (Cloud, Console, and PC) – March 13
  • No More Heroes 3 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – March 14
  • Lightyear Frontier (Game Preview) (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X) – March 19
  • MLB The Show 24 (Cloud and Console) – March 19

It should be noted that Control has been on Game Pass before, with the base version of Remedy Entertainment’s paranormal banger leaving the service in February 2022. Now, it’s back better than ever to reclaim its spot as one of the best Game Pass games thanks to the addition of its more comprehensive Ultimate Edition. Remedy recently bought back the publishing rights for the game, so now’s the perfect time to check out exactly why the studio was eager to regain full… control.
