Xbox players will lose access to iconic FPS titles with Game Pass soon

If you're enjoying older Battlefield games with Xbox Game Pass at the moment, you'll be sad to learn they're leaving the service soon.

If you’re an active Xbox Game Pass subscriber, then you’ll know all too well that there’s countless games for you to enjoy for free with your membership – and more to come as we head into the holidays. However, for every new game Xbox adds to Game Pass, an existing Game Pass game is often removed and access through the service is revoked. When it comes to the games leaving Xbox Game Pass in November 2023, three iconic FPS games are among those on the way out.

When you take a moment to really look at all the Xbox Game Pass games available with an active Xbox Game Pass membership, even all the Xbox Game Pass Core games, there really are some brilliant games out there for you to play for free. The best Xbox Game Pass games available include some of the best RPG games of all time, a couple of the best racing games available on the platform, and truly wonderful open-world online experiences like Sea of Thieves and No Man’s Sky.

However, as sad as it is to admit it, there’s no guarantees here; each month, a handful of games are removed from the service – and it’s a real shame if you’re some who spends a lot of time playing them. While you will be pleased to know that the selection of Xbox exclusives available with Game Pass is almost always exempt from the cuts, this month Xbox Game Pass players will loose access to Battlefield 1943, Battlefield Bad Company, and Battlefield Bad Company 2 – despite Xbox Game Pass’ integration with EA Play something of an established partnership.

These might be among the older Battlefield games available, but they’re some of the best FPS games on the service and an unequivocal loss for members.

As this new Xbox Wire article clarifies and adds, the following games will be removed from Xbox Game Pass on November 30 and no-longer free for active members:

  • Anvil
  • Battlefield 1943
  • Battlefield Bad Company
  • Battlefield Bad Company 2
  • Disc Room
  • Eastward
  • Grid

If you want to continue playing these games, you can pick them up at a discount with your Xbox Game Pass membership for a limited time, so not all is lost. However, with a new Starfield sale just starting up and some of the best Black Friday Xbox deals available from November 17, there’s plenty more to spend your hard-earned cash on.

You can, of course, also enjoy playing all the new Xbox Game Pass November 2023 games throughout the month and beyond. With titles like Rollerdrome, the perfect blend of Tony Hawk and Max Payne, and strategy title Dune Spice Wars among those being added, there’s still a lot to enjoy.

You may want to invest in one of the best Xbox expansion cards soon, though. When it comes to storage space requirements, a lot of these new games are bigger than the older Battlefield titles leaving. So, you might not manage a straight swap when it comes to downloading them.
