Valorant console version seemingly confirmed via multiple job listings

As FPS fans wait for the Valorant console release date, that moment could be getting closer as Riot Games rolls out Valorant console playtests for PS5 and Xbox.

Valorant console version

The Valorant console release date is a moment that shooter fans can’t wait for, and we’re just as eager to play one of the best FPS games on PS5 and Xbox. Developer Riot Games could be gearing up to bring Valorant to console players in the near future, as a recent listing indicates that a Valorant console playtest is set to be underway.

According to a new job listing on Riot Games’ official website, the developer is looking for an “associate console playtest analyst.” The role in question is billed as the following: “As an associate console playtest analyst on the game analysis team, you will focus on validation testing of upcoming gameplay experiences for Valorant.”

The key point to hone in on here is the mention of “upcoming game experiences”, which appears to indicate that the console version of Valorant may be closer than previously anticipated. This is reaffirmed by accompanying job listings, which confirm that Riot Games is looking for a staff software engineer for both Valorant’s console UI and console tech.

The latter job listing specifically makes reference to platforms: “You will be a technical lead focused on solving foundational problems required to ship Valorant to console game players. You will build technical solutions that help release Valorant onto Xbox and PlayStation.”

Riot Games is yet to officially confirm the arrival of Valorant on PS5 and Xbox platforms but plans for a console release emerged back in 2020. Speaking with GameSpot, Valorant executive producer Anna Donlon says that Riot Games is “definitely prototyping” it, though “there’s a way to play this game and there’s a way to experience this game that we’re not entirely sure translates completely to console play.”

Now that these job listings are in the public eye, it is possible that Riot Games is preparing to make an official announcement. That means you’ll need to start preparing for rising up the Valorant ranks and getting updated with the latest Valorant tier list.
