Splatoon 3 Pokémon Splatfest coming days before Scarlet Violet launch

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are on the way and Nintendo is celebrating with a Pokémon Splatfest in Splatoon 3 just days before they finally come out

Splatoon 3 Pokemon Splatfest start time: an image of three inklings in Green, Red, and Blue

We know you might be sitting there wondering what all the Splatoon 3 Salmon Run ranks are, and that’s totally okay, but there’s something you need to know about. Nintendo has just announced that a Splatoon 3 Pokémon Splatfest event is coming ahead of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet release date and we can’t wait to jump in. Just to be specific, the Splatoon 3 Pokémon Splatfest is slated to start on November 11 at 16:00 PST / 19:00 EST and 00:00 BST on November 12.

Much like the Splatoon 3 Deserted Island Splatfest, Nintendo is asking Inklings to pick one of three teams ahead of the upcoming Pokémon-themed event: Grass, Fire, or Water. At the moment, we are under the impression that this Splatfest will also run for just 48 hours. This means it’s due to end on November 13 at 16:00 PST / 19:00 EST and 00:00 BST on November 14.

If you’re something of a veteran Pokémon trainer, you’ll know very well what these things are referring to when it comes to Pokémon games. It’s all about the starters and the type of Pokémon they are. In every Pokémon game, the three starter Pokémon are either a Grass-type, a Fire-type, or a Water-type and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet starters are no different.

Pitched as a “debate [that] has perplexed our greatest philosophers for ages”, picking a starter Pokémon in any Pokémon game is far from an easy decision. But, it looks like Nintendo is hoping to settle this debate once and for all with the help of Splatoon 3’s players.

Splatoon 3 Pokemon Splatfest Start Time: a tweet with details

There aren’t any details on what this Splatfest will entail, but we’re expecting something along the lines of a classic 4v4 Turf Wars start, followed by a Tricolour Turf War to finish things off. Either way, you’re going to need to keep your best Splatoon 3 weapons to hand as this is sure to be a feisty fight.

So, if you’re wondering what the next Splatoon 3 Splatfest is all about, now you know. But, which team are you going to pick?
