We know this sort of thing is becoming an annual occurence, but it’s Pokémon Day again and there’s a lot of exciting Pokémon announcements to talk about. While some of you might be interested in the announcement of Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic, we’re here to talk about the news that Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet is getting two new DLC expansions throughout 2023. We know, we’re excited too.

Titled the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, this expansion will release in two parts for both main Pokémon titles; Part One is named The Teal Mask, and Part Two is named The Indigo Disk. We know that’s a little confusing, but purchasing the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC for Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet will give you access to both parts – as far as we know, this is something that will be shared for both Pokémon games, too.

In Part One, players will visiting Kitakami on a school trip, taking players to a new area beyond the currently-available Paldea region. Part Two will continue this by letting you study as an exchange student at Blueberry Academy – again, not in Paldea. Both expansions will see both new and familiar Pokémon from past generations return; however, the exciting part is that it’s also going to feature two new legendary Pokémon: Ogerpon, and Terapagos.

This two-part story is certain to be an exciting one for fans of this generation, but there’s more than just new narrative content to explore. Players can also get their hands on a new uniform set in both games – which is available as soon as you pre-purchase the DLC from the Nintendo eShop. Not only this, but you can claim a special Hisuian Zoroark in-game (that can’t be obtained through normal gameplay).

Part One of the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero drops “Fall 2023”, and Part Two drops in “Winter 2023”.
