Sure, you might not match their NBA 2K24 ratings right off the bat, but you will still have 99 OVR potential and all their animations.
Interestingly, you can customize these pre-set NBA Template builds too. ‘Joe Knows’ does explain that you’ll lose the signature aspects of each build, but this can still be an excellent way of setting yourself up with a decent selection of stats before you jump further into things.
Content creator ‘Bashworld‘, who has also taken a look at the NBA 2K24 MyPLAYER builder ahead of any sort of NBA 2K24 early access period starting, has said this is a fantastic feature for newer players – which should help them get familiar with the systems in play, and jump into the action a lot quicker than before.
One thing worth noting, though, is that it isn’t something available for every single player in NBA 2K24. So, your favorite might not actually have an NBA Template to use. Although, you should still find another one similar-enough to it.
In addition to this, as explained by content creator ‘Uncle Demi‘, when you create your own player, you won’t be able to choose your body shape initially. However, you will be able to customize your height, weight, and wingspan. These will all alter the Max Potential for your stats, something that will be curtailed and changed if you choose a pre-built NBA Template.
You can, of course, also pick your position. When you decide on all of these aspects of your player, you’ll be able to start actually choosing your stats. While you’re choosing where you want your Attribute Potential to be assigned, you’ll notice that the builder itself will highlight which badges you can earn with certain stats. It’s described as “easier to navigate” than before and should help you tailor your MyPLAYER build to suit your needs and playstyle.
