If you can believe it, NetherRealm Studios is finally confirming when Omni-Man joins Mortal Kombat 1 – and it’s sooner than we thought, despite the minor setback. On the eve of Invincible Season 2, a new Mortal Kombat 1 Omni-Man gameplay trailer is offering fans a first look at his bloody combos and confirming when Omni-Man is coming to MK1, at long last.
We know Mortal Kombat 1 is talked about as one of the best fighting games out there for a reason, but fans have been finding themselves at odds with developer NetherRealm Studios due to the lacklustre content, over-valued monetization, and lack of clear communication. For example, Halloween was a perfect time for the developer to win back disgruntled fans, but it blew it – if we’re being brutally honest. However, hopes of seeing NetherRealm Studios finally confirm when the Mortal Kombat 1 Omni-Man release date is due has been keeping quite a few fans clinging on. Now, thankfully, we know when this is.
Despite the fact that this new PlayStation Store update seemed to confirm when Omni-Man was coming, a new gameplay trailer from NetherRealm Studios reveals that Omni-Man is joining Mortal Kombat 1 from Thursday, November 9, 2023. That’s only a couple of days after the aforementioned leaks, so it could have been a lot worse when it comes to the delay.
With this date when early access starts, we’re expecting Omni-Man to be available to purchase individually from Monday, November 13, 2023 – five days after release. This early access period duration is based on MK11, though, so we could very well see this date pushed back to Thursday, November 16, 2023 – a whole week after release.
If you want to see Omni-Man in action, you can see some bloody gameplay below:
Anyone who’s seen Invincible will know Omni-Man is a force to be reckoned with, but this gameplay trailer really does showcase him as potentially one of the best Mortal Kombat 1 characters out there. He’s fast, ferocious, and unforgiving – everything you need from a fighter in Mortal Kombat 1, really.
We also get a good look at one of his Mortal Kombat 1 fatalities and new Kameo fighter Tremor. We don’t know if he’s going to be one of the best Mortal Kombat 1 Kameo fighters just yet, but semi-recent Cyrax nerfs do open up the meta a little more ahead of his arrival.
While new leaks claim Omni-Man is only the second Mortal Kombat 1 fighter with this over-powered move, the gameplay trailer makes it hard to tell whether that’s the case or not. What we do know, though, is that he’s going to be a tough opponent and one you’re going to want to learn the Mortal Kombat 1 combos for when he arrives.
