MK1 leaks claiming Noob is coming just got a lot more believable

If you want to see Noob Saibot in Mortal Kombat 1 after all the MK1 leaks, series co-creator Ed Boon is teasing his arrival in the future.

Anyone following Mortal Kombat series co-creator Ed Boon online will know that he likes to tease Mortal Kombat 1 fans (sometimes a little too much) when it comes to the latest MK1 leaks, rumors, and upcoming content. While it’s easy to pass all of this off as just a bit of fun, his latest comments all-but-confirm Noob Saibot is indeed on the way. It might be time to start taking those leaks a little more seriously.

NetherRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat 1 is easily one of the best fighting games available at the moment and a huge part of this is down to the selection of Mortal Kombat 1 characters you can play as. All reimagined versions of existing characters, the current roster is one of the most interesting we’ve seen in a long time. When you throw all the best Mortal Kombat 1 Kameo fighters into the mix, there’s a lot of fun to be had.

However, while the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 Omni-Man release date is exciting, a lot of players are still finding themselves frustrated that iconic characters from the series are still missing – including the ever-popular Noob Saibot. When it comes to potential upcoming characters, he’s been in the conversation a while, but the leaks are often a little light and it’s always hard to trust what you see online – as much as you might want to believe some of it.

Now, though, Ed Boon is giving any leaks regarding Noob Saibot a lot more weight – and we certainly think that is (in part) intentional. As both these recent Noob Saibot leaks, and these older Noob Saibot leaks, show (which both reveal some data-mined voice lines from confirmed characters), they don’t explicitly name-drop Noob Saibot. This is just who we think they’re about – now even more-so.

Commenting “just wait” on a Reddit post highlighting that Noob Saibot is just one of two male ninjas missing from Mortal Kombat 1, Boon has sent some fans into a frenzy and it now seems almost certain that Noob Saibot is on the way.

Both Tremor and Ermac are confirmed to be on the way, with the Mortal Kombat 1 Tremor release date fast-approaching. There’s nothing to say Chameleon, the other male ninja still missing, isn’t also coming, but Noob Saibot is the one all the leaks talk about – and the one everyone wants, us included.

Of course, though, with the Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack release order all laid out – ending with the Mortal Kombat 1 Takeda release date in mid-2024 – we’re not expecting anything official regarding Noob Saibot for some time. We’re only seeing some proper Omni-Man gameplay the day before he’s due to drop, after all. NetherRealm Studios doesn’t give long lead times when it comes to announcements.

Will he be one of the best Mortal Kombat 1 characters when he does arrive, though? Well, he was a popular pick in MK11 and we can see that continuing into MK1 – whether he’s good or not. However, only time will tell. For now, you can read more about how there’s also some Mortal Kombat 1 Terminator DLC on the way and why MK1’s biggest misstep is not bringing back Konquest Mode right here.
