MK1 confirms new Kameo fighter Tremor drops over week after Omni-Man

If you're looking forward to using Tremor in Mortal Kombat 1, you'll be annoyed to learn that you'll have to wait a little longer for him.

Mortal Kombat 1 Tremor Kameo release date: an image of Tremor from the Omni-Man trailer

NetherRealm Studios’ first batch of post-launch Mortal Kombat 1 content is almost here, which is all very exciting for fans of this fighting game. However, following confirmation of when Omni-Man is joining the roster – in a trailer that heavily features new Kameo fighter Tremor – the actual Mortal Kombat 1 Tremor Kameo release date is a lot later than first thought. MK1 fans looking for an alternative to Cyrax or Frost will have to wait almost two more weeks for Tremor to arrive.

Mortal Kombat 1 might be one of the best fighting games available on PS5 and Xbox right now, but factions of fans are finding themselves more and more disgruntled with developer NetherRealm Studios. For example, Halloween was a perfect time for the Mortal Kombat 1 developer to win back fans, but it sort of blew it – with a lack of new content and over-priced cosmetics the main reasons for complaints. Now, though, the lack of transparency when it comes to the Tremor release date is souring some fans even further.

As RealmKast reports, the WB Games Support page for the Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack confirms that Tremor will be available from November 20, 2023 – which is 11 days after the Mortal Kombat 1 Omni-Man release date.

This might not seem like a major issue for most of you, but the trailer below does make it seem like Tremor is releasing alongside Omni-Man and NetherRealm Studios’ lack of clear communication on the reality of the situation is frustrating. It’s also something that could be indicative of future content, meaning we’re going to be drip-fed new fighters and Kameo fighters with an undetermined time between each new release – which isn’t something people are always a fan of.

We will admit, though, that both Omni-Man and Tremor look like excellent additions to Mortal Kombat 1. It also sounds like Omni-Man will be only the second fighter to have this over-powered move, which should help him find a place among the best Mortal Kombat 1 characters when he drops.

As for Tremor, though, only time will tell. He could very-well be one of the best Mortal Kombat 1 Kameo fighters out there, thanks to the recent Cyrax nerfs. But, there are some fantastic other options out there – and Shujinko can just copy your opponents Kameo, which will always mean you’re on the level. So, as long as we do have to wait, we will just have to wait and see.
