Between The Boys’ Homelander and DC Comics’ Peacelander reportedly joining all of the Mortal Kombat 1 characters, they might not be the biggest surprise that Ed Boon has in store for PS5 and Xbox fans. Dig out your old Transformers movies and take a trip down memory lane, because none other than Megan Fox may enter Mortal Kombat 1‘s arena.
Ahead of the Mortal Kombat 1 release date, a new rumour from Last Stand Media founder Colin Moriarty claims that actress Megan Fox put her dukes up against fighters such as Raiden and Sub-Zero. “So one of them IS Jean-Claude Van Damme […] so I heard that he’s playing Johnny Cage […] I was told about Jean-Claude Van Damme before the game was announced, this was told to me over a week ago that Megan Fox and Travis Scott are also in the game,” alleges Moriarty in a recent Sacred Symbols podcast.
While Moriarty stresses that these celebrities may have been cut from the final game, his source did inform him on the appearance of Hard Target star Jean-Claude Van Damme. Whether they will appear as fighters is yet to be clarified, but it is possible that they could appear as Mortal Kombat 1 Kameo Fighters. Introduced as a feature to aid players in the heat of battle, Kameo Fighters will assist the player, operating within their own separate lineup outside of the main roster.
Though it may seem like an outlandish choice to include Megan Fox in the Mortal Kombat franchise, you may be surprised to learn that the Jennifer’s Body actress is an avid fan of the long-running fighting game series. Viewed as some of the best fighting games out there by Fox, the Hollywood star revealed to People that she’s an ardent player when it comes to emerging victorious over her former partner, Machine Gun Kelly: “He’s not a big gamer […] we got the latest Mortal Kombat, we downloaded it, and I crushed him. Like, destroyed him every time we fought.”
Fox claims that she challenged the musician to over “40 something matches” during their Mortal Kombat sessions. Undoubtedly one of the more anticipated upcoming PS5 games to release this year, we wonder whether Fox will be taking her fight online via Mortal Kombat 1 crossplay functionality.
