Swinging into our lives in 2023 is none other than the sequel to Insomniac’s PlayStation 4 game, Marvel’s Spider-Man, but will Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release on PS4? Considering that the standalone pseudo-sequel Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales was on both PS4 and PS5, many may be wondering if the sequel will also arrive on the last-gen console.
The Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release date may not be upon us just yet, but we’re eager to play the sequel and catch up with a range of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 characters. So much so, we believe it could join the best PS5 games list when it does launch since the first one was heavily commended for its twist on the beloved Peter Parker and his alter-ego. But will those on PlayStation 4 be able to play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?
Is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PS4?
Unfortunately, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a PS5 exclusive, meaning that it won’t be on PS4. When the game was revealed, alongside Marvel’s Wolverine, Insomniac confirmed that both games are PlayStation 5 exclusives, in a PlayStation Blog post. This is likely to take advantage of the current-gen tech.
This will be the first game in the Marvel’s Spider-Man series that is exclusive to the current-gen console, with the prior two being available on both PS4 and PS5. If you’re a fan of the web-slinging wall-crawler, you may need to look at picking up a PlayStation 5 in the near future.
While it may be a shame that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PS4 isn’t planned, there are plenty of reasons to pick up the next-gen console. There are quite a few PS5-exclusive games in the list of all PS Plus Extra & Premium games that are worth playing, or even those who love RPGs will get some hits from our best PS5 RPG games. So, it’s definitely worth picking one of these consoles up soon.
