The PlayStation release for Honkai Star Rail is finally here and there’s a lot to look forward to if you’re planning on playing through your PS5 console. From crisp 4K resolution visuals to haptic feedback, this is going to be the ultimate way to play Honkai Star Rail 1.4 and every future update on the way. One of the most important things you need to know going into this new update, though, is the Honkai Star Rail 1.4 banners and which five-star character you can get your hands on first.
You might not think it, but Honkai Star Rail is one of the best RPG games out there on mobile devices right now and it’s certainly one of several new PS5 games worth checking out if you get the time. Sure, you may need to wade through some semi-aggressive monetization, but Honkai Star Rail is giving away free Special Passes alongside the PS5 launch and – worst case – you can just buy more, with resources and real money.
So, it really shouldn’t take you too long to throw together the bare bones of the best Honkai Star Rail team comp; although, there are plenty of Honkai Star Rail characters out there that work well when you’re just starting out.
But, which of those characters will be available in the upcoming Honkai Star Rail banner schedule once the Honkai Star Rail PS5 release date and update 1.4 arrives?
Phase 1 of the Honkai Star Rail 1.4 banner sees Jingliu featured as the 5-star character, with Sampo, Tingyun, and Qingque the boosted 4-star characters on her banner. This will be available from Wednesday, October 11 to Friday, October 27.
That’s right, at long last, Jingliu (Destruction, Ice) is going to be a playable character in Honkai Star Rail. We don’t know how she’s still alive, but her addition to the roster of playable characters in 1.4 should yield some answers – if we’re lucky. Sampo (Nihility, Wind), Tingyun (Harmony, Lightning), Qingque (Erudition, Quantum) will all be 4-star characters you can pull during this banner.
Beyond this first phase, you can look forward to Phase 2 adding Topaz and Numby (Hunt, Fire) as another new 5-star character for you to claim alongside the return of 5-star Seele (Hunt, Quantum). Yes, Seele is coming back. You’ll also be able to pick up the new 4-star Guinaifen (Nihility, Fire) during Phase 2 alongside Luka (Nihility, Physical) and Sushang (Hunt, Physical).
If you want to make sure you’re taking full advantage of Jingliu’s strengths, you’re going to need to make sure you’re hoarding your Immortal Scionette (x15), Immortal Aeroblossom (x15), Immortal Lumintwig (x15), and Gelid Chitin (x65) – all of which are Jingliu’s Ascension materials, as per ‘honeyhunterworld‘. Beyond this, you just need to make sure you’re taking full advantage of her ice-focused kit.
However, if you want to make the most of your time playing more generally, you can check out the latest Honkai Star Rail codes right here and our Honkai Star Rail tier list here. We know a lot of this can come down to personal preference, and that’s fine, but there are some characters that are better than the rest. You just need to know which ones to keep an eye out for.
