Gale Flames are key to upgrading your level and enhancing the power of the Draupnir Spear. But, where can you find each one and how many are there? Well, to help you out we have all the God of War Ragnarok Gale Flame locations below, with exact details on where you can find each one.
Whether you are simply exploring the open world realms, looking to power yourself up for one of the tough bosses in the game, or just making your way through the main story. A handful of them can be found as you are exploring, so if you want to take on those tougher challenges, you will need to grab at least one or two Gale Flames. Keep in mind that there are spoilers below for the third act of the game.
God of War Ragnarok Gale Flame locations
There are four Gale Flame locations in God of War Ragnarok, and they can be found by defeating main story bosses, finishing side activities, and favours, or exploring the open worlds. The exact locations of each one are:
- Gale Flame 1 location: Defeat Hrist & Mist in the main story mission The Summoning
- Gale Flame 2 location: Defeat the Flame Phantom in Vanaheim, during the Nocturnal Predator Favour
This guide is currently a work in progress as we still find all the Gale Flames in the game. But, we will update this guide once we have found them all. You can see more detailed descriptions of the Gale Flame locations below:
Gale Flame 1 location
During The Summoning mission, which is about 85% of the way through the main story, you will visit Muspelheim and meet Surtr. He will show you to the Spark of the World and here you will meet Hrist & Mist, two of Odin’s Valkyries. Upon defeating them in this boss fight, they will drop a Gale Flame on the ground for you to pick up.
If you happen to miss it, it will be transported to the chest when you next visit a Blacksmith.
Gale Flame 2 location
After you save Freyr during one of the last missions in the game, Birgir will sacrifice himself during a cutscene. Upon leaving after this mission finishes, you will be able to start a side mission to find Birgir that takes you to The Crater.
While here, use a Celestial Altar to turn the time of day to night and you will be able to see a number of dying animals in The Plains, just next to the large tree. Upon investigating them and using your heavy attack with your Blades of Chaos you will begin the Nocturnal Predator quest. Simply complete this quest and defeat the boss at the end to get this Gale Flame.
That covers the God of War Ragnarok Gale Flame locations. As we said, there aren’t as many of these as there are Chaos Flame locations or Frozen Flame locations in the game as this weapon is already upgraded by the time you get it.
