The developers had released several posts about Alhaitham and Yaoyao, detailing the story behind their respective character, alongside their element, before officially revealing them in the Special Program Genshin Impact 3.4 livestream.
This official reveal confirmed existing leaks and speculation, such as from reliable community leaker ‘Ubatcha’, that these characters would be in the Genshin Impact 3.4 phase one banner.
Both Alhaitham and Yaoyao are powerful new Dendro characters, which are a significant boost to the currently slim roster of Dendro characters. Alhaitham is a strong five-star on-field Dendro DPS wielding a sword, while four-star polearm wielder Yaoyao breaks the mould to be a one-of-a-kind Dendro healer.
Alongside Alhaitham and Yaoyao, Xiao returns for a rerun in the Genshin Impact 3.4 banners for phase one. Having a devoted crowd of users, a Xiao rerun is a great opportunity for new players to acquire this powerful Anemo DPS, or for others to get higher Constellations.
Thanks to the Special Program Genshin Impact 3.4 livestream and official posts, we also know that Hu Tao and Yelan are next for a rerun in the Genshin Impact 3.4 banner phase two. Hu Tao was last available in November 2021 and players have long been asking for a rerun given that Hu Tao is one of the best and most popular characters in Genshin Impact. Yelan is also popular for her incredible sub-DPS potential and Hydro application. All in all, the second phase of the Genshin Impact 3.4 banners will be great for newer players with their eyes set on some of the most powerful characters available in the game, with both characters ranking highly in our Genshin Impact tier list of best characters.
The host of four-star characters featuring in the Genshin Impact 3.4 banners phase one are a mixed bag. While players will likely want to pull for either Alhaitham or Xiao, they likely won’t be wanting all three of the four-stars up for grabs. While Yaoyao is shaping up to be a great character, especially since they fill a niche, Xinyan is not a popular character. Likewise, despite Yun Jin’s power in certain teams, such as with Yoimiya, her general usability is limited. Nevertheless, they are the featured Genshin Impact 3.4 banners phase one four-star characters that players can get.
The four-star character options revealed for the Genshin Impact 3.4 banners phase two are much more appealing, featuring a rerun of Xingqiu, Ningguang, and Beidou. While Ningguang is a more niche character, Xingqiu is one of the best characters in the game, despite being a four-star. Likewise, Beidou has a lot of potential thanks to her powerful Elemental Burst and unique Elemental Skill.
This pattern is much the same for the Genshin Impact 3.4 weapon banners, with the phase one banner weapons being fairly lacklustre. While Alhaitham’s signature weapon, The Light of Foliar Incision, could be a great option and the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear is certainly no slouch, the phase two weapon banner for the 3.4 update is much better. Featuring the Staff of Homa and Aqua Simulacra, among the best weapons in the game and viable for a variety of characters, and a strong selection of four-star weapons, the phase two weapon banner is the better pick if you’re low on Primogems.
That’s everything we know about the Genshin Impact 3.4 banners. While the selection of four-star characters available is a mixed bag, the five-star characters on offer in the form of Alhaitham, Xiao, Hu Tao, and Yelan are certainly worth saving Primogems for to fill out your Genshin Impact characters roster.
