The secrets of the ooze are revealed in the latest Fortnite crossover, as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are taking over the island. We’ve already had all four Turtles in-game, but the fun doesn’t end there. Epic Games is bringing new Fortnite TMNT POIs, Mythic items, and even a badass looking Shredder skin to the store on Xbox and PS5.
There are many reasons why Fortnite continues to be one of the best battle royale games out there, but one key factor is the excellent crossovers Epic Games brings to players. Anything can happen in Fortnite, and that much is evident as we leap from Metal Gear Solid to TMNT content. Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is right around the corner, but before then, it looks like we could be entering the sewers, according to leaker ‘ShiinaBR’.
Epic Games is still to confirm when this crossover will begin, but ShiinaBR claims that in the next week we can expect “TMNT event skins, TMNT Mythics and map changes.” One skin that has already been datamined is that of the Turtles’ famous nemesis, Shredder. The Shredder skin comes with two variants, but the best one is easily his shiny armor skin. Whether you’re a fan of the cartoons, comics, or the movies, this design should please even the most hardcore TMNT fanatic. It is certainly better than whatever Activision was cooking up for Call of Duty players.
But Shredder isn’t the only additional TMNT character coming to the Fortnite store. The leaker also reveals leaks for Master Splinter, and again, Epic Games has nailed the design. However, there is one character we’d love to see appear – Casey Jones. The vigilante and eventual ally of the Turtles is just as iconic as our green hard shell heroes, and if April O’ Neil can get a Fortnite skin, then Casey Jones deserves one too.
As for TMNT Mythic items, we speculate that each of the Turtles’ individual weapons will be available for players to find in chests or in the open on the island. Similar to last year’s Star Wars event, Mythics will likely grant some form of ability to use, be it traversal or combat based. Weapons are nice, but Epic Games really needs to let us drive The Party Wagon – the iconic van driven by the Turtles.
The current season has already teased the Turtles’ arrival with graffiti and sewer grates that transport players around the map, so bringing in their sewer lair properly would be nothing short of perfect.
The future of Fortnite is looking good, especially as Fortnite OG could set for a grand return later this year. Though it is yet to be announced, we do know for sure that you can grab this awesome guitar controller for Fortnite Festival soon.
