We’re entering a golden age of gaming adaptations on TV, with Amazon’s Fallout emerging as a faithful iteration of Bethesda’s iconic RPG series. Following an initial wave of glowing reviews, Bethesda is marking the occasion with a limited-time freebie. It won’t be around for long, so here’s how you can join in on the celebrations with a free reward in Fallout 76 on PS5 and Xbox.
Bringing one of the most beloved RPG game franchises to life in another medium was never going to be easy, but it looks like Westworld co-creator Jonathan Nolan and co. have cracked the code. However, before you start binging every episode on Amazon, you should boot up your copy of Fallout 76 on PS4, PS5, or Xbox One / Series X|S consoles right now. From Thursday, April 11, 2024, until Tuesday, May 7, 2024, players can add a brand-new jumpsuit to their inventory, inspired by the show.
Visually, this jumpsuit is based off of Lucy MacLean’s (Ella Purnell) own garb, indicating her residence within Vault 33. It’s a neat touch that doesn’t feel out of place in Bethesda’s once divisive multiplayer game, as the Fallout TV show is canon to the franchise’s universe. Unlike Washington D.C’s Vault 101 or Concord, Massachusetts’ Vault 111 in Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 respectively, the TV show’s iteration takes us to the nuked sunny shores of Los Angeles.
Additionally, if you’re more of a simulation game fan, you can claim a Vault 33 jumpsuit for one of the best games in the franchise, Fallout Shelter. While it started as a mobile title, Fallout Shelter is now playable on Xbox and PlayStation consoles too.
If you’re completely new to Fallout 76, then it’s an ideal time to check it out. Now, we know what you might be thinking: ‘isn’t Fallout 76 bad?’ There was certainly a time when Fallout 76 wouldn’t come anywhere close to the ranks of the best PS5 games and best Xbox games out there, but Bethesda has worked to turn the game around over the years.
In fact, as of January this year, over 17 million players are active in Fallout 76. If you’re playing on Xbox and have an active Game Pass subscription, you can find it among all the new Xbox Game Pass games currently available. Alternatively, if you don’t have a Game Pass sub, the game is free to download for a limited time from today on Xbox and PC if you have an Amazon Prime subscription.
