While the results of the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority ruling on the Microsoft Activision Blizzard deal ruminate with Call of Duty fans, the latest Activision investor report is also in the open for perusal. Diablo 4 fans in particular will be happy to know that the upcoming action RPG is coming out of the report with sturdy findings, as the Diablo 4 release date approaches.

The report details a myriad of details pertaining to major Activision franchises, including Modern Warfare 2, Overwatch 2, and of course Diablo 4. According to the Activision investor report document, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick shares that “in our 33rd year, Activision Blizzard is performing exceptionally well. Every one of our key intellectual properties continues to grow year-over-year, with Call of Duty once again a key driver of growth […] pre-sales for Diablo 4 are strong. And none of this would be possible without our people, who deliver excellence for our players every single day.”

Additionally, Kotick says that “demand indicators for Diablo IV […] are strong, although we continue to plan prudently.” With the Diablo 4 release date approaching, the report expresses that “this ambitious title will serve as the launch for a compelling live service, with regular seasons and story-driven expansions planned to drive engagement for many years to come.”

Speaking on the recent CMA ruling, Kotick also attests that “we remain confident that our deal with Microsoft benefits competition, consumers, and job creation in markets around the world, especially in the UK. The CMA’s report today does not reflect these realities, and we will work aggressively with Microsoft to reverse it on appeal.”

The latest entry into the Diablo 4 franchise was announced at BlizzCon 2019. Following on from its 2012 predecessor, Diablo 4 began beta tests last month.
