The Diablo 4 Donan’s Favor quest is an important quest for progressing your character as you’ll need to complete it to unlock the mount system. However, it’s not as straightforward as it might first seem. We’ve got you covered with how to start the Donan’s Favor quest, as well as how to complete the quest to unlock your first horse.
If you’re starting out your adventure in Diablo 4, chances are you’ve headed to Kyovashad hoping to get a Diablo 4 mount, only to find out there’s a quest to complete first. This is where the quest Mount: Donan’s Favor comes into play, though there’s a process before you can even begin this quest. It’s an important quest to complete though, as getting a horse will be helpful for breezing through the Diablo 4 endgame with style and speed.
How to start Donan’s Favor in Diablo 4
To start Donan’s Favor in Diablo 4, you must reach the beginning of Act 4 and have completed A Master’s Touch quest first. You will likely be around level 35 before you reach this point.
If you’ve spoken to the Stable Master and interacted with the stable before this point, you’ll have been met with the message that you must complete the Mount: Donan’s Favor quest before you can unlock the mount system. However, what it doesn’t tell you is that this side quest is only unlocked once you’ve completed the A Master’s Touch quest – also in Kyovashad – making it a confusing process.
With A Master’s Touch unlocking at the start of Act 4, you will likely be around level 30 or above before you’ll be able to access both quests and, therefore, get a horse. If you’ve been been exploring the Diablo 4 map, completing dungeons, strongholds, and more, then you will likely be an even higher level.
Diablo 4 Donan’s Favor quest
Diablo 4 Donan’s Favor is a straightforward quest once you’ve got it, tasking you with simply speaking to the Stable Master, Oskar, in Kyovashad. Upon doing so, they will explain how horses work, including the controls and how to unlock more mounts. You will then unlock the mount option and be able to purchase a mount.
If you purchased the Deluxe or Ultimate edition of Diablo 4, then you will automatically have the Temptation mount already unlocked for you. Alongside this, you should also have some horse armor to choose from.
Once you’ve completed Mount: Donan’s Favor, you can then interact with the stable and mount system in its entirety, acquiring new horses and customizing them until your heart’s content at any of the stables located around the world. Completing the Donan’s Favor quest is just the beginning of your experience with mounts, as you’ll unlock horses and customization as you play, including from the Diablo 4 world bosses and Diablo 4 Helltide events. Be sure to head back to the stable from time to time.
