Festival of the Lost 2022 has kicked off in Destiny 2’s Season of Plunder, and once again brings with it a spooky activity in the form of Haunted Sectors, scary versions of standard Lost Sectors with a focus on farming Spectral Pages to unlock rewards. While there are plenty of things to grind for in the event, some of the best rewards – including a new Exotic ship and a majestic Starhorse sparrow – are locked behind challenges that require you to farm Spectral Pages and upgrade them into Manifested Pages by completing Summoning Rituals.

Destiny 2 Spectral Pages explained
Destiny 2 Spectral Pages are a currency in Festival of the Lost that are earned by completing various activities. These are then upgraded into Manifested Pages by performing Summoning Rituals in Haunted Lost Sectors. Manifested Pages can then be exchanged for rewards.
How to farm Spectral Pages in Destiny 2
The best way to farm Spectral Pages in Destiny 2 is by grinding Vanguard activities like Strikes, as these are quick to complete and offer more Pages at the end than other activities.
In Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost, Eva will give you your first Spectral Page when you begin the Gone but Not Forgotten quest that leads you through the first few steps of the Festival. After that, you’ll need to go grinding in true Destiny 2 fashion.
There’s a variety of ways to farm Spectral Pages, but as mentioned the most profitable way is through Strikes and Nightfalls. Head into the Vanguard Ops playlist with a Festival mask on and you can expect to earn four or five Spectral Pages for each run.
These can be earned in other activities too. You’ll receive three for each Crucible or Gambit match you complete, while Public Events (Normal or Heroic) will reward you two. Ironically, the worst farming method is Lost Sectors. Even Legend or Master Lost Sectors will only net you one single Spectral Page.
The only caveat here is that you must wear a Festival Mask to farm Spectral Pages or Candy. Obviously this could impact your stats and build quite heavily unless you choose to level up or even masterwork your mask, so be aware of that if you’re heading into higher difficulty Nightfalls.
Destiny 2 Summoning Rituals and Haunted Lost Sectors
This year’s Festival of the Lost event in Destiny 2 is fairly similar to Seasons past, and sees you don a Festival Mask and head into Halloween-themed versions of Lost Sectors on the Moon, Nessus, Europa, and in the EDZ. While fending off hordes of enemies, you must also stand in summoning circles to perform a Summoning Ritual and call forth a Headless One, which is a huge pumpkin-headed mini-boss. After defeating ten of these, you’ll summon the main boss.
Each boss is a three-phase fight, and will spawn a shield at each damage threshold. At this point, you’ll need to summon another Headless One that will drop pumpkin bombs when defeated. Pick these up and throw them at the boss to break the boss’ shields, and repeat until done.
Each Headless One you slay will cause one of your Spectral Pages to transform into a Manifested Page.
What do you do with Manifested Pages?
You must take Manifested Pages to the Tower, where Eva Levante is stationed. On a lectern beside her rests the Book of the Forgotten, and interacting with it allows you to unlock chapters by using up your Manifested Pages. You’ll need to bring a lot of these pages to the Book in order to unlock everything and complete three of the challenges on the Event Card. Completing the Event Card will earn you plenty of rewards, including the brand new mech-themed Sniper Rifle, the “Mechabre”, and the new Ghost Writer title.
