Destiny 2 Lightfall takes us to a secret, cyberpunk city to face Calus

Destiny 2's Lightfall expansion will see Guardians head to a secret city on Neptune, and will see the new Strand subclass added to the game

Destiny 2 Lightfall reveal: A guardian wearing a red and blue helmet walks through a cyberpunk city

Bungie has just revealed details about next year’s Destiny 2 Lightfall expansion, and fans are losing their minds over Calus and The Witness’ new fearsome new army, the Shadow Legion, and the cyberpunk-esque new area of Neomuna on Neptune.

During the Destiny 2 Lightfall showcase, we also learned that Guardians will encounter a race of do-gooders called Cloudstriders once their secret city on Neptune is uncovered.

As well as all of the story beats of the next expansion, we also got a preview of the new subclass, Strand. Strand is another darkness subclass, but unlike Stasis, it is completely novel – you are the first in the Destiny universe to wield this power.

Strand is a psychic force that sees you take the “threads of reality” and rearrange them to create powerful tools and weapons – there’s even a grappling hook, letting you swing around the new location on Neptune like a space-fairing Spiderman.

On top of all of this, early details were revealed around a new loadout system, an in-game LFG, and more systems to help brand new players.

You can watch all of the Destiny 2 Lightfall announcements in the livestream below.

As well as the Destiny 2 Lightfall details, we also learned that Season 18 will be called Season of Plunder. To prepare your Guardian, check out our Destiny 2 best weapons list and our guides on the best builds for Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks.
