Warzone TAQ V loadout best build and class setup

The best Warzone TAQ V build transforms this potent battle rifle into an extremely accurate loadout that excels as much at close-range as it does from afar.

Warzone 2 TAQ-V loadout: the TAQ-V

Battle rifles are a versatile weapon class introduced in Warzone which sit somewhere between an assault rifle and a sniper in terms of their mid- to long-range prowess. The best Warzone TAQ V loadout is no exception, though it can also do an immaculate job at close quarters.

With a focus on adding extra damage and effective range to take advantage of the TAQ V’s innately-high accuracy and recoil control, this Warzone TAQ V build will help you mow down anyone that crosses your sightline – be it in semi-automatic or fully-automatic firing modes. There’s a reason why it’s dominating the Warzone meta as one of the best Warzone guns right now.

Best Warzone TAQ V build

The best Warzone TAQ V build on offer:

  • Muzzle: Sakin Tread-40
  • Barrel: 18″ Precision-6 Barrel
  • Rear Grip: FSS Combat Grip
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
  • Magazine: 50 Round Drum

Kicking off with the muzzle, the Sakin Tread-40 provides plenty of horizontal and vertical recoil control – the latter of which is important for keeping the TAQ V’s kick under control. Being a battle rifle, there is quite a lot of recoil to manage, so the Sakin Tread-40 is the perfect starting point. We’ll also be tuning this for recoil stabilization and recoil control to further rein in the kick.

The 18” Precision-6 barrel, meanwhile, offers some very important stat boosts in damage range and bullet velocity, though it does hinder out aim down sight speed so keep that in mind. Nevertheless, this attachment is great for improving the effectiveness at range now that we’ve got the recoil more under control.

The FTAC Ripper 56 further improves recoil stabilization, as well as stability, at the cost of ADS speed. However, lost ADS speed isn’t necessarily a deal-breaker on the TAQ V, which is a good thing because it is further sacrificed for the increased magazine capacity provided by the 50 Round Drum. As for the tuning on the FTAC Ripper, we’ve gone for a balance between recoil stabilization and ADS speed on the vertical slider, and then all the way on aiming idle stability.

Finally, slap on an FSS Combat Grip to really maximise the recoil control, and you’re good to. In practice, the drop in mobility feels negligible, and if you combo the TAQ V with one of the best Warzone SMG options available right now, then mobility won’t be an issue anyway.

You may have also noticed the lack of optics in this build, which is due to the fact that the TAQ V has crystal clear iron sights. However, if you really do need that FSS OLE-V Laser, or VLK 4.0 Optic if you intend to use this primarily at range, then either the rear grip or magazine can be sacrificed.

You can see a similar MW2 TAQ V build in use by ‘EyeQew’ below, though they prefer 7.62 High Velocity ammunition over the FSS Combat Grip.

Warzone TAQ V class setup

For the best Warzone TAQ V class setup, we recommend taking Overkill, Double Time, Fast Hands, and High Alert.

Overkill is vital so you can bring a close-range weapon along as well, such as an SMG. In fact, we’d recommend either the best Warzone Lachmann Sub loadout, or the best Warzone Fennec 45 loadout.

As for the other perks, Double Time is perfect for manoeuvrability in Warzone, increasing the duration of Tactical Sprint and crouch movement speed. Next, Fast Hands lets you reload, swap weapons, and use equipment faster, which is great for when you’re in a pinch, especially with a rather clunky battle rifle like the TAQ V. Last but by no means least, High Alert will keep you in the know if an enemy is aiming at you. This perk is used in nearly all loadouts for a reason; it’s hard to turn down the great advantage this provides.

To round off the build, you’re going to need some equipment. Here we’d recommend the combination of Drill Charges and a Flashbang or Smoke in the lethal and tactical slots respectively.

Best Warzone TAQ V alternatives

Right now the best Warzone TAQ V alternative is the Warzone SO-14 loadout we’ve been championing. This mighty battle rifle is arguably the best in the game right now, making it the perfect class alternative for the TAQ V.

However, if you’re getting tired of BRs, but still require something that can be used at a decent range, then the Warzone Lachmann-556 loadout is the way to go in Warzone Season 5.

And that’s the best Warzone TAQ V loadout and build you can get your hands on right now. If the TAQ V isn’t for you, then be sure to check out some of the other best Warzone battle rifle alternatives. Good luck.
