Warzone 2 DMZ reset goes full Tarkov with Season 2 progression wipe

Warzone 2 DMZ mode will drop a seasonal refresh for COD players, as the MW2 spin-off mode's progression wipe hits for everyone dropping into Al Mazrah.

Warzone 2 DMZ mode embarks on a fresh conquest, as we head into Warzone 2 Season 2. The Escape From Tarkov-style mode has managed to impress Call of Duty players, in part to its tactical thrills and utilisation of the Al Mazrah map. With a bevvy of rewards to collect in the game mode, Warzone 2 DMZ players won’t have long to cash them in. Now, players can anticipate a progression wipe to hit in the upcoming update.

Alongside changes to Warzone 2’s battle royale experience, DMZ mode players will see some new implementations in Warzone 2 Season 2. According to the recent official Call of Update blog post, DMZ mode will include “all-new missions” as well as “a refresh of your current faction mission progress.” That means you’ll be starting from scratch when the Warzone 2 Season 2 release date arrives.

The refresh undoubtedly bears a resemblance to the occasional Escape From Tarkov wipe, which sees players gain a new lease of life, as they begin a new journey to survive. While your mission progress is reset, this means you can look forward to potentially better rewards from factions when Season 2 arrives.

If you’ve not dipped into Warzone 2 DMZ mode yet, you can encounter three factions: Legion, White Lotus, and Black Mous. Each of them yields rewards such as XP tokens, emblems, and weapon blueprints.

Completing these missions has previously been difficult, largely due to the game’s aggressive AI enemies. “We’ve introduced a number of balance changes to adjust the types of AI spawning, the number of AI spawning, and the accuracy of AI at range,” the blog explains. Though the AI foes will still pose a challenge, the developer expresses that DMZ mode will continue to have a “manageable play-space that still requires player respect of enemy combatants.”

This mindset has been lent to Warzone 2 DMZ mode’s missions too: “We have adjusted the overall scaling of difficulty in Missions as the Tiers progress.” Mission difficult changes are coming to ensure that acquiring the Insured Weapon Slot is easier. However, the developer clarifies “later tier missions will still be quite challenging […] but we believe more straightforward access to an additional insured slot will provide a better path forward for all players.”

Before the Warzone 2 DMZ mode reset arrives, earn much as XP as you can right now. All Warzone 2 DMZ mode key locations are vital for your sessions, especially if you’re on the hunt to discover Building 21.
